Nvidia has released GeForce 195.62 WHQL drivers. Same as the WHQL candidate, now with WHQL certification.

Installed them last night. They work OK in every app, but there's one drawback: the nvidia quick access to control panel - system tray icon - is not present anymore in the XP task bar.

Also, the option in the nvidia control panel "show notification tray icon" cannot be activated. Everytime I try to check it, it doesn't respond. So, the tray icon does not appear in the Windows task bar no matter what...

So, I uninstalled the 195.62 (safe mode, driver cleaner etc.) and I reinstalled the 191.07 whql. Surprise: the tray icon shows up without any problem, every time I check the option in the nv control panel.

No problem with my XP SP3 whatsoever - everything works fine, no crashes of iexplore.exe like in the post "How do I get my NVIDIA system tray back in my Windows XP?". Looks like the 195.62 are garbled with this tray icon problem.

I was so comfortable in using the task bar quick access to nv control panel that I think I will revert back to the 191.07.

I had the same problem - no system tray icon.

Also I'm using a CRT and the hertz rate would not stick upon rebooting.

Reverted back to 190.38

I'll have a CRT as well - now I'm @work, will check the refresh rate when I get home and report back on Monday.

Yeah, the Tray Icon can't be enabled. I never have it showing anyways, so no biggie to me. No problems with it so far, but I haven't tried any games, yet. Other than that, everything else works great. Office 2007, Firefox w/ Adobe Flash 10.1 Beta (YouTube, etc.). I'll try some 3D stuff this weekend. Oh, and videos of various extensions work great, too, using Windows Media Player Classic Home Theater. ;)

Yeah, I'm using the Beta version as well. I forgot to point that out in my post above. :o

I am using the BETA not WHQL but they work perfectly. Flat panel scaling, 3d stereo, Quad SLI. All work. EVen my barely teen Slippe pRon MKV plays without any frames dropping

 Y'all are using Alpha Beta Crappa drivers. :D

Sorry, just watching some college chicks getting it on. :naughty:

Fallout 3 still has a lot of hitching with these drivers.
