I got more ram today for the P4 that i bought on another forum stuff was advertised 2x256mb DDR333 which I wanted, one stick is DDR333 the other is DDR200. So the question here should i run both sticks with my other DDR333 and make all my system ram run at PC1600 or just run 768mb of DDR333 and try to find another stick. Will that other 256mb make a big diffrence

First of all, about your OPINION, I think it's probably better if you match up memory. If you do use what you have, you will have to down-clock everything to your lowest running memory.

As you see HERE, (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010170147%201052407860&name=DDR%20333%20%28PC%202700%29) ram isn't that expensive from newegg. So I would probably try to get at least 2gigs of ram match up and go from there. Remember that system is pretty old, there is a lot of new stuff that is on the cheap now days.

On a P4 system? What kinda crummy DDR motherboard has 256 max per slot?! Most hax maxes of 1-2Gb if not more.

It probably does support more, I'm not going to make you buy more to clarify that though.

If the board supports dual channel, don't run 768MB (3 sticks). You should just try and test some 512MB/1GB sticks in it. We have a tonne of old P4 DDR machines at work and I've put 2x1GB sticks in all of them no worries.
