View Full Version : computer wont see blue ray drive

my computer wont see my new blue ray drive. its a sata drive i have a sata hdd wire plugged into teh spot and into the mobo and i have the sata power wire plugged into the drive but like it wont show up under my computer and i dont think its turning on...

ASUS M3N72-D ??

what SATA controller did you plug it into?
What SATA mode is the motherboard set to? IDE? RAID? AHCI?

i think its set to ahci right now im at work for another hour when i get home ill check it otu so u think i should set it to ahci and jsut plug int into 1 of the 2 remainning sata slots i have 2 drives pluged in right now not in raid and i dont want raid

in IDE mode you only have 4 working sata plugs (2 black ones don't work)
in RAID and AHCI mode all plugs are working
in RAID mode optical drives probably will not work
in AHCI mode they will work

its on ide mode right now detects all sata drives not this new blue ray drive right now if i put it on ahci mode it wont boot up sats boot manager is missing im going to try and install nvidia chipset drivers from system disk and see what happens

btw the BR drive is in slot 3 of the main 4

ok ahci enabled by registry tweak drive still not on maybe i should try different wires

got the drive IT TURNS ON!!! im updating the software now
