Being that most members here believe all media hype and don't really understand skill. I figured this would be a fun poll.

Mayweather is going to face Pacquiao on March 13th. The media will have you believe that Pacquiao is no less than the son of god and will destroy Mayweather. However, me being the sports analyst that I am, I don't believe this is true. I think Pacquiao is a good boxer. No doubt. But I also think Mayweather is the better one of the two.

So with that said. Lets start the poll now. I'm publicly placing my vote for Mayweather to win. I even have $200 on the fight. Place your votes now. (nana2)

I say Mayweather will, but honestly I don't give a crap about boxing. Give me MMA and Kickboxing anyday of the week over Boxing. Which also reminds me to remind you all that K-1 Final 8 2009 is on this Saturday morning on HDNet.

Pacman over-rated?

Are you kidding me? Have you SEEN him fight? Have you SEEN the punishment he takes and keeps on ticking?

I'm not going to bother voting when you dis-respect Manny like that dude, it's just ridiculous.

And I think the fight would be pretty close. I am however going to give the edge to Manny simply because of your "over-rated" claim, but not clicking on your voting buttons :bleh:

A great boxer wouldn't take that much punishment. Just sayin.

I've seen a few fights from the Pac-Man and also from Mayweather. I think the "Pac-Man" is definitely good, but I think Mayweather will take him down just like he has done with previous opponents.

Why would you come out and say "most members believe media, don't understand skill....". Does that make you feel better about yourself?

No, he wasn't.

Gosh you are SOOO right :wonder:

The 3 time heavy-weight boxing champ, winner of a gold medal at the olympics as an amateur and winner against some of the best heavy weights of all time was not a great boxer. You have made a very compelling argument :wonder:

I think Liston, Frazier and Foreman, amongst many others, would TOTALLY agree with you :wonder:

Easy to win fixed fights.

Anyway, going PacMan with this one. I'd love to see Mayweather shut up.

Pacman. Mayweather has never fought anybody that will just keep coming like Manny will. I watched his fight with Cotto, and he can throw punches from any angle, and throw them with authority.

Mayweather fought Hatton when Hatton was considered to be that kind of fighter.

I gained a lot of respect for him that night. He took punches and kept on ticking. Pacman, if he is 100%, should make things very interesting with his speed, power and his chin.

True, but Hatton is nowhere NEAR as fast as Manny, and you saw what Manny did to Hatton, destroyed him, something Mayweather didn't do...True, Mayweather got the TKO, but it was from an accumulation of punches, not ONE mega left hook.

Hatton was visibly slower v/s Pacman as well, that's why I don't want to say that Floyd didn't fight well. He did what he had to to win. Given the weight class they are fighting, normally I would say slam-dunk, Pacman will win, but he is fighting on a quick turnaround.

I am picking him to win, but how he wins depends entirely on his conditioning :D I am hoping both fighters come in on top of their games and dominate :D

I'm taking Mayweather, I won't put any money on it but I'm sure we could come up with something.

I wonder why Pacquiao is trying so hard to get out of the frequent testing? There is something wrong. For 30 million you can stick me every damn day in the ass.:o

I watched Pacquiao vs. Cotto last night. Pacquiao is a damn good fighter and Cotto was a quality fighter but Pacquiao dismantled him. The fight should have been stopped in the 9th round.

I think Mayweather is the better fighter but maybe not now. He is too old. Pacquiao is still in fighting form and Mayweather has to come back from "retirement" and get the rust off with no tune-up fight. I think this may tilt things in Pacman's favor.

I still hate pacman fans though. Single minded morons with no understanding of boxing. They just glob on to this guy because he is from their home island. /rant

Hatton was a beat fighter when he fought Pacman. Losing big fights can change a fighter.
