SEGA Australia can today confirm that the initial submission of Aliens vs Predator has been Refused Classification by the Classification Operations Board of Australia. We will continue to investigate all options available to us, including the possibility of appeal.

Why is it only Crainger who's "famously" from Australia. We are a democratic country so I think we should be able to elect the token Australian guy amongst ourselves.

I vote for Crainger.

FFS It's probably half as violent as that POS movie Alien vs Predator 2.

Ah well, at least if it's a decent game I can import from play-asia. Or just download the ****ing thing...

YOU HEAR THAT DEVS! The Australian OFLC is driving me to piracy! It's time to stand up to them on behalf of gamers everywhere. Throw a lawsuit at them or two, stop suing each other. Sue Australia for making it extremely difficult to get legal games.

crainger has spoken. All crainger's opinions and views are shared buy all Australians.

He's the only one whose wife sends me naughty messages in the middle of the night through Steam.

Ofcourse we can import/gift/what eva and get the uncensored version. But this game will have dedicated servers/etc support, so on the multiplayer side we wont get local game servers hosted since the game wont work with uncensored versions.

I hope they do make it so both work togeather, that way we can just import / gift uncensored version.

But yea...i think this country is just plain stupid. There are far worse content available that gets the seal of approval because movies/etc have r18.

What a **** hole of a country this is.:headexplode:

Nothing gets banned in the US, but our puritanical views on sex taint the entire film and game industry, so... yeah, sorry about that.

Singles was sold uncut here also, just Strip Poker for Wii was banned. WTF. Singles had sex scenes and everything didn't it?

I dunno, these guys who ban can't live forever, the gaming generations are taking over. Soon we will have ultimate power.

While Sega tries to reason with the Classification Board about Aliens vs Predator's "refused classification" status in Australia, developer Rebellion has come out and stated the game won't be getting butchered to fit any government's censorship scheme. Jason Kingsley, Rebellion CEO:

Rebellion is disappointed that its upcoming title Aliens vs. Predator has been banned in Australia. However, as we understand the law in that country the authorities had no choice as we agree strongly that our game is not suitable for game players who are not adults.

The content of AvP is based on some of the most innovative and iconic horror movies, and as such we wanted to create a title that was true to the source material. It is for adults, and it is bloody and frightening, that was our intent. We will not be releasing a sanitized or cut down version for territories where adults are not considered by their governments to be able to make their own entertainment choices.

Good. Less money for Australia.

That is full of win HAHAHAHA

Indeed full of win.

There is a whiney aritcle on Kotaku today from an Aussie who says not to blame the government for this as it is all Atkinson. The heart of the matter though is that their government allows this one man to effectively ban things through its government run ratings board, so it IS the government that is responsible.

Here is the article: http://kotaku.com/5419298/hey-stop-blaming-the-australian-governmentpeople-for-banning-games
