This is a good debate of politics, on one hand, women would be glad because porn makes them objects of humiliation for perverse men. On the other side it would make me a hypocrite because I also wish drugs were legal, so I cant make porn illegal if I want drugs to be legal

I find it odd that in this society, we can show movies to 13 year olds that depict people getting blown to pieces, but can't show them anything about sex. Some don't even want them educated about it.
We ask our 18 year olds to go off an kill for our country, but you have to be 21 to drink, and hell 25 to rent a car.
As for the drugs, well that war is having great sucess, it's takes an outsider like me roughly 20 minutes to purchase any street drug you can name, of course, that's up from the 10 it used to be. Figure in 5 more years it may take me half an hour. Legalize it and end a load of street crime.
You know it's worth mentioning that quite a few women have found great seccess in the porn industry, Dani Ashe for example. I figure everyone's got their niche.

As long as it is just like any job (i.e. not forced and compensated for), I see no reason to make it unlawful. Otherwise you are just legislating morality, and the morality in question is debatable at best.

No!
even if they tried... they would never ever be able to inforce it. child pornography is illegal... how many times to you hear about sickos on the tv that have it that murder some kid??? so i dont think they should even bother with pornography... its never gonna be stopped.

make drugs legal, people wont stop doing drugs. at least drugs dont make people rape 12 year olds like porn does
As long as they leave stile on the net i am fine.:p
Personally our society faces more problems then just pornea. Porn does nothing but feed one of societies many addictions. I wish all that would just go away but it just is not going to happen...

There really isn't that much evidence to support your logic. Rape is an act of violence and really ain't much about sex. (I know that sounds weird, but I'm NOT joking.)

actually, I have a sinking fear that without child porn, there would be more maniacs actively trying to fulfill their fantasies of having sex with children, as horrible as it sounds. doesn't make child porn right, it just means we need to find those who have it and either A. throw them in jail and throw away the key or B. emasculate them. I prefer the second.

I think we can all give a resounding NO when it comes to kiddie porn....

No argument there whatsoever from me. The sick bastards should be shot, they don't rehabilitate.
I'm not talking about child porn or abusive porn or anything like that, I'm talking the good old fashioned kind of hardcore consensual adult-type nekkid people having sex.

pornography is alot harder to stop than drugs... since you can get your fix over the internet, internet activities is nearly impossible to stop. with p2p programs such as kazaa...
there is no proof that porn makes people rape 12 year olds, and in fact, i would think that it would decrease the rapes. since the child molesters (the sick bastards) would be able to get their fix over the internet and some lube...lol im being serious.

When you think about it, even 18 year olds shouldn't be legally allowed to perform in porn. That means that a lot of the people I just graduated high school with could be found in the next version of Debbie Does Some Skank. I just can't picture that. I think it should be at least 21.
Anyway, I'm 18, and I can legally watch porn. That's ok. ;)

There is a difference between child porn and normal porn;) Child porn is already illegal, what on earth would banning porn do to any crime figures at all? Nothing whatsoever.
Britain rocks, you have to be 18 to watch sex but you can have sex at 16:rolleyes:
What happens if you video tape yourself having sex at 17 and watch it?:D

So true . I agree with you. mll
there is nothing wrong with porn made with consenting adults (18+). as with all things, if someone finds something offensive, there is always the option not to view or buy the offending material. since the porn industry generates roughly $10 billion per year in NA alone, i think the porn industry is quite safe from attempts to make its materials illegal.

I personally think porn can be a very negative thing. It can condition some people who are vulnerable to expect women to live up to something that the vast majority will not.
If you have no or little experience with women the first 10 years of post pubescent life, and instead your only outlet is porn, you might get stuck in a rut so to speak where only the naughtiest acts with the hottest looking women excite you. "Normal" women, who aren't incredibly hot and willing to swallow might end up being a big disappointment.
Should it be carte blanche illegal? No. But it should require 18 or more years of age to access it. As most of us know, just about anyone be they 20 or 12 years of age can get to some pretty mature websites without having to try hard. Kinda scarey to have kids these days, I would monitor mine all the time they were on the net at home.

"Rape is an act of violence and really ain't much about sex."
agreed, but isnt some porn about violence? I have read antiporn books which say something about snuff films, rapes, S and M and other sick acts which I dont want to even know myself
"I think we can all give a resounding NO when it comes to kiddie porn...."
I dont see why adult porn is much better, only that adults can consent so they arent taken advantage of, but its still wrong. also what about 18 year olds that look or dress like 15?
"there is no proof that porn makes people rape 12 year olds, and in fact, i would think that it would decrease the rapes. since the child molesters (the sick bastards) would be able to get their fix over the internet and some lube...lol im being serious."
do people get their fix when they look at drugs? no they go out and buy some! porn users soon need more so they go out and experience it themselves :(
"Anyway, I'm 18, and I can legally watch porn. That's ok."
so your saying be 21 to be in porn but 18 to watch? makes some sense, since 18 year olds can also watch others drink beer but they cant have any
"What happens if you video tape yourself having sex at 17 and watch it?"
my brain hurts :( uh I guess declare insanity?
"How old was she?"
your mom? just kidding though, I respect mothers.
"since the porn industry generates roughly $10 billion per year in NA alone, i think the porn industry is quite safe from attempts to make its materials illegal."
so why wouldnt making drugs legal also bring in that money? who is the government to say porn is OK but not drugs?
If porn is outlawed then only outlaws will be... in..... porn... films. :p :D

If you ignore the moral questions surrounding pornography, its influence on society is fairly nil. Sure, people watch it, but it doesn't change anything--otherwise, people would just fantasize about sex instead of looking at pictures.
Drugs, on the other hand, have a far more wide-reaching impact upon society. Therefore, the government stepped in and regulated drugs, as it has done with pornography for years.
