My estimates point me to early 2007, but I could be wrong and it may be late 2007  im talking ebay or from used resellers. an example is right now ti4200s go for around $100
Never unless they are 2nd hand, Reason they are getting discontinued for the Radeon 9800 regular so supplies will dry up quick.

Nah, I think by 05 you'll be able to find a $100 wonder deal on one used. :)

obviously itll have to be 2nd hand but its not like by 2005 no one will be able to get one off ebay or classifieds. There are tons of 8500le's on ebay for $100 or less and in 2007 itll be radeon9700 pros, 9800s and even 9800 pros for a "C" note :)
Hey Geforce4ti4200, your sig, with the rig is too big :D

I think your estimates are way out, I have no idea what you're basing them on..I would agree on Digi on around 2005.

2005 thats way long!
Id say the second hand price will come to 150ish when nv40/loki come out, they will drop to 100ish when nv45/loki refresh come out.

wow since when does a card drop nearly half in value when a new card comes out? the 9800 pro hardly dented the 9700 pro's price

There's a big difference between a refresh and a new product.
I dont think it will never hit $100 atleast in stores caz it will prolly be discontinued and will be sold out. U could prolly get a second hand one for $100 anytime..u jus need a dumbass to sell it at that price..;) ;)

If radeon9700 pro prices never get as low as $100, ill just keep my ti4200 forever :(

yea right, an oced 9600p hardly beats a stock 9500 also a stock 9600p loses to a stock ti4200. although I might have no choice and get one of those in 2007 when all games move to directX 9. I still think $100 wont be a good deal for a 9600 pro by 2007
lmao by 2007 there will be a Radeon 12600Pro for 100 bux :D

by the time the 9700 pro drops to $100, it wont be worse than a ti4400 by todays standards

By 2007 the graphics cord will be intergrated to the main board. So instaed of buying graphics cards all the time we will be swapping out main boards. 4 years is a loooooong time in the PC biz.

I doubt that.
It's hard enough to integrate a DirectX 9 graphics chip into a motherboard (which is why Intel are supposedly scratching their hates over what to do about their on-board video once Longhorn comes around and makes DirectX 9 compliance a standard requirement of the OS), let alone the more complex designs we'll be seeing in the future. Transistor count alone would make it a nightmare.

anyway some people are saying by 2007 a 9700 pro will be junk in the same way an mx440 is now because we will have pci express and directX 10. Then maybe I could be less cheap and get the slowest directX 10 card instead which will probably be as fast as a 9700 pro but itll cost $200 :(
