radeon9800 pro 256mb 380/350
radeon9800 pro 128mb 380/340
radeon9800 128mb 325/290(core could be 300)
radeon9800le 128mb 275/275(replace the 9700np)
radeon9700 pro 325/310
radeon9700 275/275

and like 20+ other slower radeons

the 9800le at estimated $250 is looking really good now, and it may hit $200 at the beginning of 2004, making it the choice of the best $200 video card. The best $100 video card will be a ti4400 by then :)

I have NEVER treated ANYONE like that ANYWHERE!

I find that kind of attitude abhorent and elitist, I'm an f-ing newb myself about 3 times a week at least about something so I always try to treat people with some respect and above all patience.

(It's only after they've exhausted my patience or aggravated me that I cut loose, but I don't recall even using the term or idea of "newbie" as an attack.....I prefer to make it much more personal than that! ;) )

Pretty sure he was not referring to you specifically. I think he was referring to the clan of hardcore geeks who smell fresh meat when a "noob" first appears...We've all been a "noob" at one point in our lives...

erm, I was referring to the place where ATI questions are traditionally asked. ;)

Damn it, no it doesn't does it?

I gave in to temptation and trolled around over there a bit, it is like a ghost town since the staff all left!

But I guess Andre was right after all, he can still run the site without us....

(It ain't sour grapes, it's flat-out cruelty on my behalf. I'm a mean sucker at times. )

A bit of the graphic world of folklore and legend, it was it's own Camelot in it's day.

A lot of good actually came out of it and it still makes me sort of sad to see it dying so slowly. :(

(But it makes me giggle an evil chuckle a bit more than it makes me feel sad. ;) )

Hey,..better an LE edition of the 9800, than a TNT2, or an Intel thingy using system ram for video. OY!

By the way Stealth,..HP Pavilions are now using the Intel graphics chip and using system ram for the video ram. Good marketing. Now they advertise a 3D graphics chip with 64MB of ram. Sheesh!

awwww that sucks! guess the 9700 non pro lives on unless some guy sells his oem 9800le when he upgrades to something like an r420. and heh we were all n00bs but im glad no one flamed each other thats why I like this place :D I was right about a 9800le existing but too bad its for oem systems only. were any other cards like that? I think the tnt2 vanta maybe? ATI really needs to get a card to compete with the fx5900 value. Also there is a huge gap between their $150 radeon9600 pro and their $300 radeon9800 non pro, they need a $225-250 card and I dont see why not use the radeon9800le, itll be identical to the faster radeon9800 pro except speed binned for those chips that didnt make it to 380MHz core

All the Radeon 9800 are 256 bit,it just the lower end modles are clocked slower and some of the have slower memory, but not all,The Dell R9800 non pro has the same ram as the as the R9800Pro just clocked lower and from what I have seen it will run just as fast as a R9800pro,but about a $100 cheaper.

I remember an ATi site called "ATi Invasion"... back in the early Voodoo2 days... when there was "S3Planet" and "VoodooNation"... and all ATi had on the 3D market was the Rage Pro...

I have to disagree, the 9800 Le for $250 isnt a very good deal. Heck, the 9800 (non pro, non LE) can be bought for $270 right now!! I think that by Q1 2004, you will be seeing $260 price tags on 9800 Pros (they are already available for under $350). Probably around $200 for a 9800 (non pro. non LE).

When ever the 9800 LE makes it to retail market (I havent even heard of it until now) it'l probably be ~$50 cheaper than the 9800 np.
