I really don't like this whole downclocking thing they've started in their recent driver releases. It seems to cause problems, in my opinion, as the GPU doesn't always seem to revert to actual speeds like it's supposed to when starting a game or other 3D app.

Is there a fix for this?

What is the last known driver to not have this downclocking feature?

I just prefer my GPU to stay at it's rated clock speeds 24/7.

Can't you force them clock speeds using a third party utility like Rivatuner or nHancer? I know for certain that you can force the clock speeds to run in Performance Mode or whatever at all times. It would be nice to be able to have more control over the clock speeds with a couple of mouse clicks or perhaps keyboard hotkeys, that's for sure.

They had dynamic clocks in their drivers and cards for a long time now...

It will never return to full 3D speed if you get a Nvlddmkm stopped responding error. Have you check the event viewer to see if that's happening?
