View Full Version : Leadtek GeForce 5900 ULTRA---problem!?!?
Hi there.
Not a very hardcore hardware freak, so I'm not THAT good in theese areas, but I THINK I have a problem.
Just got my Leadtek GeForce 5900 ULTRA 256MB TDH MyVIVO (WinFast A350 Ultra TDH MyVIVO) card, but I think it's running a bit slow!?!?
As you can see on this picture I attached, the speed of the graphics-clock is only running at 300 MHz??? Shouldn't this be at like 450???
Do you think I can crank it up to 450? ???
On the www.leadtek.com it says:
Engine clock 450 MHz
400MHz RAMDACs
I'm I totaly wrong here guys...or?
Thanx for helping out a trembling noob ;)
Cheers
/Magnus
In 2d mode, it runs at 300. When you run 3d games on it, it will automatically switch to 450MHz. :D

And this you are sooo incredible sure of???
Just asking to be shure here :)
So what's the overclocking for then in this picture?
Yes, I'm sure. Because the 5800Ultra cards also do this. In 2d mode, they ran at a lower speed. When running games, the 5800Ultra automatically switches to 500MHz clock speed for the GPU.

Ok, fair enough :)
Do you know where I can see how fast it's running in 3D-mode?
/Thanx for the help BTW man.

He's 100% sure. I'm not sure what overclocking utility you are using but when using coolbits you have options for both the 2D & 3D clocks.
Try rivatuner and all should be ok! :D

Where did you buy it from? Is it the reference design?

I bought it from a store in sweden
http://www.sbs.o.se/
Got it for 4990:- swedish koronor. Do some currency-calculation to you favourite one to see the right price, though, it was pretty cheap if you ask me...
On leadteks homepage it clearky says it will use the special 2-fan-version. BUT I got a pretty big surprise when I noticed...reference design!?!?!?!?!?
Seems to work alright though...just a bit surprised...

Oh well I am planning to buy Leadtek 5900 Ultra MyVIVO card, I want to make sure, is the card based on reference design and use 2 slots require to install the card, not dual fans and use 1 slot?
Do your card use VIVO, if it is, do the Leadtek package got VIVO cables and DVI to VGA adapter?
I found some pics of the Leadtek 5900 ultra here:

Thank for the pic, pity it wont showed inside Leadtek's package :(, it seem the Leadtek's 5900 Ultra is only card use the reference design while 128Mb 5900 is used Leadtek's own dual fans design.

Pretty funne there man :)
Well, not entirely noob, I know what I like, but when somethings seems wrong, I doesn't always know where to look and what the problem might be.
I had a GeForce 2 ULTRA for quite some time now, actually bought that when it arrived to, and that's, in terms of gfx-cards, a long time ago.
