ok, received it today!!..overnight mail from COMPUsa...and the tests are as advertised for the board...

15593 for 3D01

and

5907 for 3D03...

My poor Matrox G400 had a best rating of 1886 for 3D01....and, of course, i couldn't run 3D03...

Now, question, how do i full frame zoom this thing say 2x and 4x - while watching .mov, or .mpeg, or avi, or even dvd.....i haven't been succesful with the zoom idea or hot keys.....i used to be able to just go ctrl+1 once for 2x and twice for 4x with the Matrox card for movies or just the screen - and then three times would bring it back to normal.....

oh, and i didn't grow any hair, lose any weight, and i still need those dang blue pills, oh well...

is it the reference design?

other than that...have fun with it

it sure looks like the reference design when compared to the reviews....it does perform as advertised - although the PNY did not come with any real extras - only the card, a vivo out, and a connector for the extra wattage needed and the driver disc with NDVD and a few NVIDIA demos....that's also why it is $25 to $50 cheaper - i guess they figured you already have the video games you want to play...

now, how do i get this thing to do a full page zoom???....

ps. all the demos and benchmarks work fine.....the air battle was amazing...

15.6k is very low, no offense sir. You also have a 2.4GHz tbred. I get 13k on 2.14GHz and a ti4200. If I had your cpu, id probably get near 14k. Your score is closer to what people with ti4600s get

what do you mean by? that it should score much higher?
the great thing about high end card is the low performance drop whenever you switch to H.R meaning you acn get 1000 mark off switching form 1024X768 to 1600X1200 yet you can get 5000 mark off when using the Ti4600 ...
stupid Marks say nothing the real thing is "real wold gaming" where nothing can be said about how well the FX kicks Ti's ass (talking about high end parts).
especially when talking % drop with AA and AF.
" jswcpm " listen to no one you got a winer in your hands..

"cpu: Tbred AIUHB xp2000+ unlocked and overclocked to 186x11.5=2.14GHz at 1.75 volts. Above average overclock, lucky me"

as you know OCing FSB results in huge marks jump in 3dmark2k1.
that's why you get such a high scoore because all your system is OCed+the benchmark is CPU limited...

congrats on the new card!

and yeah, 3dmark01 cannot judge new cards well, its pritty much cpu limited now. and it has been proven that altering the fsb disporpotanly raises the 3dmark01 score.

yeap as i siad, it's really stupid to bench cards on it...
3dmark2k3 is way at any rate it's stupid ass well due to the last score optimization "thing". :(

I'm scoring 18,000 on 3DM01 with a 5800 ultra.
But my core is 560 and memory is 1130. ;)

I'm going to get a 5900ultra but I'm going to wait
till the price falls to 400 or so. :)

oops, i backed off the o'c to standard at 1.65v and 13x166...over the weekend i am going to gradually go back to where i was stable before....and then also see what the speed is on the videocard as well ----what do you all use to overclock the card with??? (or see the default speeds)...

thanks...

ok, i have increased to 13x175 @1.70 volts and scores have gome from 15593 to 16226 and 5907 to 5986......hope to get up to the 185x13 as before.....

installed NVHard so i can monitor videocard clock speed..

NVMAX 2.0 or even 4.0 will not load since it will not recognize the drivers....:angel2: :angel2:

Which is exactly why you should use RivaTuner. It's all that and a bag of Harvest Cheddar Sun Chips.

very interesting -- i got up to 13x183 (could not test at 13x185 but i had to take one fan out of the case to get the card in - if i can get the fan in somewhere else, i will try and reup to 185 again)..but i did get to 16663 on 3D01, 3D03 was the same - 5986 as at 13x166 and so was Creatures at 52.5/19.0

Card is very quiet - case does not seem to be noisy at all..nothing about normal fan noise ---now i have to get a few games to play!!..any suggestions if i use a Logitech Wingman Rumplepad - i think i would prefer to use that than a joystick....(i used to have a microsoft sidewinder 3DPro but, of course, that doesn't work in xp - ).. :clever: :clever: :clever:

Yeah it's wierd, my PNY 5900 Ultra gets somewhere around 15,600 also, yet my 9800 Pro is doing 16,427 (all non-overclocked scores). In 3dmark03 my 9800 Pro is also leading, but just by a few hundred points.

So far I'm a little underwhelmed, but I'm keeping it in hopes Nvidia can bring out some drivers that really help.

His numbers are right on the money for the 5900 U, at least till they get some decent drivers out. Until then my 9800 Pro seems to be dominating.

Oh, and yes my PNY is the reference design (which I'm happy about).

What driver version comes on the CD that comes with the card ?

Can you run 2k3 with the anti-detection utility and patch 330 installed? I'd be curious as to what score the card actually gets. Probably should change it to 3dmurk too unless Unwinder remember to add that one into his script.
