If the parts are under warranty I'd say -25% of the component's retail price, but if they aren't I'd say -40%.

As always, it depends how you're selling it (parts or full) and who you're selling it to.

I just built a computer for someone a few months ago and it was a step down from yours (3Ghz Core 2 Duo, 4870 1Gb, P35 board) and I charged them around $1000. It came with a 22" 1080P Dell monitor, hard drive and fully configured windows 7 though.

I'd go with this.

Look up every components retail cost and use the above.

Damn I was curious how much I spent building my computer so I checked all my Newegg invoices and the total is $823 (not including the monitor or hard drive just to compare it to the one Bob is asking about) so not bad.

I personally wouldn't pay $700 for that. $500 however sounds good, then again I'm cheaper than Bob on a street corner on Thursday night when he's broke and the rent is due Friday morning.

I'd shoot closer to $500...but I'm always hesitant about buying an entire used system.

Yea, it's a longshot, i know. If id doesn't work out, he will sell for parts.
