I use games and general computing, Includin some Virtual Machine, I would like some advice on which cpu i should sell.
Both are Brand new,
Q8200 and a E8400 both are 45nm cores.

I have an Asus PQ5 motherboard bus speed 1300 and 1066 RAM.

Thank you

I'd keep the quad core, and sell the dual core. That quad will probably last you longer before you'll *need* to upgrade it.

Heck, I'd wager for most folks an original Phenom 9600, or Q6600, is far more processing power than they need from a CPU. Just load the system up with lots of high-speed RAM (DDR2 1066 or faster) and a good GPU- you'll be set for a good while. ;)

I've owned both the Phenom 9600 BE and Q6600 (G0 but never overclocked) and honestly couldn't notice that big of a difference between the two. That Q8200 should have a bit more umph than my old Q6600 so I'd imagine it'll last you a good couple years or more.

Keep that Q8200, make sure you got some good RAM and a good cooler, and just rock that for a good while. If it ever holds you back, oc it to what ya' need. If I recall those have a ton of OC head room. :)

Great answer 'deemed, I thought this would be the case, but was not sure. I don't think overclockinh is an option with asus P5Q 1300 board.

Thanks
