View Full Version : Is a Radeon 9500 enough?
Is a Radeon 9500 going to be enough to power such games as Planetside and SWG? when I only have an Intel Pentium 3 Processor 1.1 GHZ
and Intel Celeron Processor ata 1.1 GHZ?
More specs:
AGP (version2.0) Bus speed AGP is: 66MHZ.
348 MB SDRAM
The question is will my computer be able to run games fine with the Radeon 9500 with only a Intel Pentium 3 Processor 1.1 GHZ
and Intel Celeron Processor ata 1.1 GHZ?

Your processor will bottleneck you in just about everything.
Can you be a little bit more specific
Do I need to buy a need motherboard? Am I fine with the radeon 9500 and the pentium 3 and celeron?

Depends how you define "fine" I guess. :)
Why don't you tell us what graphics card you currently have and maybe we can tell you what kind of improvement you're likely to see?
the 9500pro will be great for almost everything.
but your computer will still be crap because your CPU is so sh*te.
right now im currently running a shattty
Rage 128 Ultra (BLOWS)
so how much improvement would i get with a RAD 9500
and the same processor i have the pent 3 and celeron both at 1.1 GHZ
For ME will it be an awesome improvement enough for me not to have to upgrade my CPU/motherboard?
Thanks

Get the 9500 Pro, it'll be a HUGE leap in performance for you....two, mebbe three generations at least.
It will DEFINATELY improve your gaming A LOT!!! I know that of which I speak, I had a rage128 too and about 7-8 cards inbetween it and me 9700 Pro. ;)
I have NOT tried me 9700 Pro in me PIII800 rig yet, so I ain't sure how well it'll game...but she plays GTA:VC pretty decent with a V5 5500 in right now so I figure you should be pretty good to go.
The 9500 Pro should take some of the work off your CPU, so you will see a decent all-around speedgain. :)
(Besides, you can always upgrade your mobo/cpu later and just pop the 9500 Pro in that. ;) )
Put the 9500 Pro in, it will be hugh performance leap. The P3 1.1 gig cpu is very good processor. Might not be as fast as some of todays, but I bet with the 9500 Pro you can play almost every game out, including UT2003 fairly well.
Its funny, but my backup computer is a P2 450 mhz, 128 megs SDRAM, and GF2 GTS. Playing Q3 on it or my main setup (In sig) at 1024 x 768, 32 bit color, and I can't tell a difference
And like Digi said, you can always upgrade mobo and cpu later.
Yes Digi, the K7N2-L is good motherboad. You probably have the delta which overclocks higher, but first K7N2-L is good too. I have my AXP 1800+ TBred A oc'ed to 1.750 ghz with VCore at 1.550. Its rock stable. Looking forward to AXP 2500+ and 2ghz + speeds with overclock :)
I had a Duron 800 @ 1GHz and picked up a Ti4400 and i saw very little increase in speed over my Geforce2 GTS, heck in MOH it seemed alot slower in SP! But once i picked up an XP2100+ all was good :)

my advice is stick to 9500, cause u can tweak it to work much better then stock.
no need to flash BIOS or anything....all u need are omega drivers.
i have then on my 9500pro and it's clocked 310/310 without any problem.....
