Detonator 50xx, when and what to expect?

It's a little bit quit lately, I'm wondering if they really exist in the way we hope, so are the golden grale? or just a myth?

I'm still encountering a huge framerate drop for AF in the fx5900U, so can we expect an improvement in that area?

nvidia hasn't given an ETA on the 50.xx drivers yet AFAIK. However, 44.03 was supposed to be a beta version of DetFX, which incorporated some of the improvements that were supposed to be found in Det50.

I really wouldn't be expecting any miracle performance increases with everything that has happened so recently, though.

All the magic performance increases that the NV3x cards have experienced seem to have come with the price of degraded quality. Which actually, is not necessarily a bad thing...if nvidia wants to include such tradeoffs with Performance or High Performance mode. However, Quality mode should offer uncompromised image fidelity!

Yeah tradeoffs are a bad thing in hq mode.

With the event of the det drivers making it to a half centry, I excpet to see 250-300% performance increase on my gf3, higher for newer cards ;) ofcorse this is all just a dream but its nice to dream :D

Seriously, what do they need doing? Just keep them compatible with 100% of the games out there, maybe give the FX line a little boost in performance, pixel shader 2.0 could be vastly improved ;)

All while degrading IQ to a level we have not seen since before 3d acceleration :p

um... before calling anyone a name here, read their previous posts, so you might be able to figure out teh assclowns from the non-assclowns...

Oh yeah, detFX? hmmm... I certainly have less confidence in it than I used to... but I'd sure imagine it to include a 10-25% increase in PS/VS perf, and a 5-15% increase in AA/AF for the FX line... hack that to 1-5% for all non fx cards... ...there's my speculation. Maybe it'll be out just in time for my 5600U mk.2 purchase... :)

yeap i see same specs yet u find 10-25% a little high maybe
10-20% moreover the FX5600U Rev2 i surely a great card i'm about to pick it up too :D

Because I'm a hardware enthusiast who happens to use said hardware. :)
