Why don't they get a fair trial as civilians? Germany tried a suspect in the public court system and he was found guilty and jailed. Why are these men been stuck into a military trial?

Pretty funny, in that they aren't "Prisoners of War" one minute, then they are being tried by a Military tribunal, which is how you would try? a Prisoner of War.

Heh, they were Prisoners of Law, much the same way that McVeigh or whatever that freaks name was, was. He got tried by a civilian court too didn't he? Terrorists are terrorists.

Bump, so where did I put that happy kangaroo of mine. How can we claim we are fighting this war for freedom when we are denying these men that very right?

God bless George Bush and his god damn double standards.

Why should these guys be tried as civilians when they were part of Al-Qaeda and the Taliban?

Military trials cut out the bull seen wayyy too often in civilian trials.

Bump, so where did I put that happy kangaroo of mine. How can we claim we are fighting this war for freedom when we are denying these men that very right? What do you mean we? From the very start some have been squeamish about taking a firm line against the Islamofascists. Yeah like being soft against the scum will result in victory. :bleh:

God bless George Bush and his god damn double standards. God bless people who time after time have no faith in the US. Funny how they sit there and lecture like they are in a position to do so.

Or maybe stick them in a fair trial, in a civilian court just like what happened with the American guy they caught fighting over there.Once again what makes you and others think it won't be fair?

Johnny Taliban should have been executed. Yet another reason why they got the panties in a bunch-the potential use of the death penalty. http://sbp777.homestead.com/files/eviltongue.gif

Got proof that every single one of them has been working and fighting for them? I seriously doubt it especially with one of the Brits been held there.

What do you mean we?

Oh I'm sorry I forgot Britain didn't have your ass when you steamed into afganistan, silly me:rolleyes:

Funny how they sit there and lecture like they are in a position to do so.

Because I can, you sit around and lecture people so why can't I?

Once again what makes you and others think it won't be fair?

And what makes you think it will be fair?

Well Blair is not a US citizen but he is up for some American award ;)

Why can't our people have a civilian trial, it's not asking a lot considering the support we have given you:p

Well you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours. It's just that you guys have some more scratching to do. There was that little war we had back in the seventeen hundreds. Were still a little miffed about that....wait a minute we won! My bad. :D Ok we will have a military trial and call it a civilian trial and we will be as civil as possible. ;) :D :p

Screw a tribunal or a trial. Send them over to **** Trent Street, Mary Esther, Florida. They can meet Judge Glock 30 and his trusty baillif, Officer .45 Winchester Silvertip. Speedy and cost effective.

We could also arm them and make a fun game show out of it?:p :D

LOL! Yeah, they each get to pilot an airliner and fly it into various buildings in an effort to take me out. When I win, I get to find their dead bodies in the wreckaged and drag them through the streets chanting "Death to the Middle East!" and burning flags.

EDIT

Wait..my bad. Egypt beat me to it.

They were denied Geneva Convention rights because they were "nonlawful combatants" and therefore did not qualify for prisoner of war status. To try them with military tribunals, effectively calling them prisoners of war, is a double standard.

Yeah, that's exactly how I see it. They're not military, then they are military, WTF?

This also correlates in some sense to the entire "US War Criminals" thing, it's ok for the US to try it's own war criminals, but other countries war criminals get tried by the US too? Wrong on so many levels, IMO, no consistency.

Really I don't care how they are tried. The outcome will probably be the same in all instances; a life of horrible beatings and rapes by the hands of various prisoners, then a lonely grave in the pasture behind the facility they called home with a wood plank bearing their inmate number for identification.
