If you aren't having problems with your computer, I would avoid flashing the bios. I would only flash if they are some serious issues you can't seem to resolve with your PC.

I and many others flash all the time when mobo vendors incorporate increased performance or enhanced support for newer processors. But if you're not an experience pc builder you either should follow fragile's advice or have a "guru" sit and do it with you - you can "trash" your mobo.

Agreed. I flashed my KT7A cuz I wanted the presets for the XP 1600+ processor, which I plan to buy soon, after I auction off my current processor. Most of the time, flashing isn't needed unless you are having severe stability problems, data corruption or hardware incompatibilities.
Best thing to do is to read the readme files on the manufacures web site. Also check the forums on thier site also, it will be of more help than here ;)
Before deciding if you need to flash you bios or not, read the information given with each revision. Read the forums on thier site, get feedback from others with the same board. Flashing a bios really isnt as bad as everyone says, just follow the instauctions.
Believe me you can trash your mobo even if you are a guru :o

Oh, definitely. I was in a cold sweat flashing my BIOS; I nearly convinced myself that I would wreck it and thus destroy my motherboard. I have heard about that sort of thing happening, unless you are an Epox owner who has a read-only BIOS stashed somewhere on the board.
