Probably fake (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v455/lixianglover/GTX4803DMark2006.jpg), but that would be nice :D

Your prolly gonna see a lot of benchmarks this week...most of which will be real.

That only matters for retail availability, not so much for the reviews themselves, which should still happen on the 26th(hopefully)....Mind you,it still sucks for those wanting to purchase one or more of them.

Adds another 11 day wait beyond the 26th of march at the minimum, though it is weird if it's actually Nvidia itself shipping them out directly, and not the vendors themselves.

"Quite often we see NVIDIA push a driver to us at the last minute and it’s possible that this could happen with the GTX 400 series.

If performance numbers come out on an older driver it’s possible that performance won’t be as good and in turn could seal the fate of the new series before it’s even officially released."

Final driver could bring more performance, everything we have seen regarding benches/leaks could be true but @ that moment .... but on 26 March or later we could be seeing more interesting benches ;)

Well, classify this one onto the pile of rumors stack....Seems that at least the first GTX480 cards will have 480 shaders, not the full 512 that the architecture has.

One of these will be disabled basically:

Again,it's just a rumor,so don't shoot the mailman....;)

Seems to be confirmed by add in board partners, here:

http://www.brightsideofnews.com/news/2010/3/15/geforce-gtx-480-has-480-cores2c-aibs-confirm.aspx

The number of 512 core parts is quite limited, and reserved for the Quadro FX5900 and tesla C2070 boards showing up in Q3/2010,While the Geforce version tops out a 480 shaders and it seems ATI is already preparing it's answer.

I feel another delay coming on :bleh:

They're cutting it fine anyway.

BOOM!

Crystal ball does it again!

Another Hair demo ^^ But you gotta admit, that looks pretty awesome :) And thanks to tesselation this can now be possible in future/upcoming games.

I think that in a real game the card needs to do some other things apart from rendering hair (or water and so on) ;)

True :) But still, I find it an awesome tech demo :D

That would be slower than your triple crossfire setup overall....You'd need 3 480's in triple SLI.I don't have the other 5870 yet...it was too good of a deal to pass up, I don't know what the hell I'm gonna do yet :headexplode:

I don't get it.... then why do all the AIBs have boxes ready??? so NV is going to send all the cards to retailers ? bypassing the likes of EVGA, BFG etc ???

Meh,you're better off waiting for the official reviews at this point,as a ton of leaks will happen within the next several days, like the link to that BSN article i posted above, but no confirmation if it's authentic or not, even though it's supposedly coming from AIB's carrying GTX470/480 cards,so who knows at this point.

Cross your fingers and hope for the best.

Depends on how Metro runs tomorrow...I'd only need NV for PhysX.

Seems that the picture was taken to believe that all those piled up boxes in the background had GTX470/480 cards in them, when in reality, only the first box in the front actually had GTX470/480 boxes inside it,and empty ones at that.....The others boxes behind are other models of cards altogther.

Boxes aren't that hard to make in the end,and it seems to lend some weight that the cards will only begin to ship to retail in early april, while OEM versions that will be installed into pre built systems, and the ones used for the actual reviews on the 26th,ship in plain brown boxes basically....No need for branding on the boxes.

Check out the optimum recomendations for system memory for Metro(it's listed on steam).....8GB or higher

Goes from 2GB on the recommended settings to 8GB or higher on the optimum ones..?

This is the optimal configuration. Worth reading:

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-tech-interview-metro-2033

Remember that Crysis is more than two years old now and still doesn't run perfectly smooth on any hardware when it's really maxed out (by config tweaking, this is even way beyond enthusiast mode). Let alone the advanced FSAA modes.
We need games that really stress even the most current hardware or we'll be stuck with bad console ports for ages. Metro is one of the first games, if not the first one at all, that supports real scalable multithreading und fully utilizes the advantages of 64 bit systems. On the other hand it scales down to not so state of the art console hardware very well.
That is very impressive.

From what i read of the article above, seems that a lot more hardware is used up when cranking the settings to their best quality options, which is bound to eat up a lot of ram no matter what....Seems like a Crysis 2.0 in the making right there,at least as far as making the hardware work pretty hard to maintain a smooth frame rate overall.

I Also liked the developers honesty regarding PhysX GPU support in that it really should be done with one GPU handling the graphics workload, and having a second one just for the physics part of the work,so SLI setups for the best experience.

Bought it just now and i'm pre loading it,even though i can only play it tomorrow...;)

I just preordered it, Should I use My 3 GTX 280's (TRI-FIRE), Or my two 5870's in crossfire with DX11.

Ambient occlusion can be used to generate more realistic shadows for example. Metro 2033 also supports global illumination, which looks even more realistic but also is a real performance killer. CryTech already demonstrated (http://www.geeks3d.com/20100228/global-illumination-in-cryengine-3-tech-trailer/) that at GDC 2009.

/e: wtf, I just realized that "The hurt locker" is called "Lethal command" in Germany... how gay is that? Sounds like a B movie featuring Steven Seagal...

/eČ: two 5870 in crossfire and a 280 for PhysX! Wait, no... :thumbdwn:

If ya got enough slots.....5870's and a 280 for physx.
