ATI always makes pretty cards. The beauty of it all is both companies product total win products. That is why the anti one company or another thing pisses me off so bad. Look how close I am to Nvidia at the moment. Do you see me talking crap about AMD/ATI? hell no. So if I OF ALL PEOPLE do not engage in it, why the hell should other people be so nasty? it just is senseless. The bottom line is THEY ARE JUST PIECES OF HARDWARE. If you want to get emotional about something, get emotional over the poor people in Haiti who are having mass graves with no ID of the dead. Nvidia and AMD are both leading fund raising efforts.

It's the true loser geeks(the type that have a lot of knowledge but don't get pussy) that get rattled. I agree with what you posted, more people need
ask themselves what the heck they are getting twisted about.

I'd go for TVs instead of more 30". The immersion factor is higher if you have a display "wall" in front of you and not just 24-30" displays. I'd get two more screens in an instant but I don't have the room for those.
And 3D is a pretty huge trend now in the TV market. That could be also a factor in the future if those screens will be 3D Vision compatible.

Me two,I got a 42 inch westinghouse tv, I had a computer hooked up to it playing unreal tournament, Damn that was cool really, I might just try it again for awhile instead of my dell 2709WFP.:)

Hey When will thevideo cards be on sale, I have one of these sweet screens waiting to break in that video card, or do you think the 2nd generation, like refresher of the GF100 would be better to purchase, right now the videocards I have are 1@285 and 3 @260.s and
1@9800GX2 and a handful of wc88's, I home only and I have a machine and I also have a server and plasma computer and daughter has a machine and I sure have enough for a couple more, 3@9650's , 1@920i7, and 1@E8600, and the newest is 1@9770......

Sure. But with a TV right in front of you, you can't see the wall behind it.
It really sucks you into the game :p

And gives you a nice tan (nana2)

lets get back to tv vs monitor, well you can just put the monitor right in your face right? but let me understand something, if you look at a 1080 with over a 32inch, dont you see pixels?

I start to pixels at about 2 feet distance on my 46", but I usually sit and play at a distance of about 3-4 feet.

It can't be far away now. That is unless there has been some sort of hold up.

Considering the amount of holdup's they've had so far,in my view, the first generation of Fermi gives the impression that it simply isn't that great to begin with...Patience and understanding only go so far,and we're not that far away from the 5 month mark since the HD5870 was released.

2560x1600 owns at snipen in fps and eliminates the need for AA
but 30 inch ACD or dell is big buck and so are the cards to drive them
at 1080p a good card can dump enough AA to make it look pretty good
at a cheaper price
i have a 30 ACD with no hdmi and no hdcp
apple display is not the way to go for 30's
but it is a very nice display
i cant wait to replace my 260gtx with the new gf100

Remember that SSAA also enhances the texture filtering quality, and it removes nearly all the shader artifacts. I run 1920x1200 at 27.5", and AA is a must, the jaggies are very noticeable here, so, 2560x1600 at 30" or more, will be noticeable too.

Be patient, i'm sure we will have offical news soon enough. It has given me enough time to save for a whole new Rig. :)

Well there's always that i guess, but i'm not in the market for a new system, and made my choice when the HD5970's were released and kickass of course,as well that the news was still bad with regards to fermi,so let's hope that this thing really gets released in march and that availability is actually decent, and not just slightly better than a paper launch where a lot of users won't be able to find one, even after waiting for them this long.
