Asus looks blah to me, I like the Leadtek though...I'm gonna go hard for Evga, just in case I can step up.

I've got cash ready for a 480GTX as well. Can't wait, will be a sweet upgrade from the legendary 8800GTX. ;)

Man the Leadtek cards look awesome!
ASUS is not bad either, much better than their previous designs with the Asian chicks :p

Agreed the leadteks look great, but the Asus 470 looks awful - green pcbs FTL! Now only if we could get some benchmarks and pre-orders... ;)

Don't wait for benchmarks if you want the card,as they'll be gone by the time people finish reading the reviews and making the decision to buy them.

If you want the fastest card Nvidia makes(for the time being anyhow),that's reason enough right there,so there's no point in considering any other aspect, such as how it's stacks up against the competition,or price or the amount of power it uses.

Absolutely, good point there Shadow001 !! If I see a Fermi online somewhere I'm gonna order one at once (nana2) Me wants Fermi ... me needs Fermi :D

... not :D First gonna read the reviews offcourse :p

If Fermi is not good, I'm gonna buy me a ferbi instead :D (haha found this a few days ago on xtremsystems ^^)

Guys, I don't want to break the optimistic atmosphere here but Charlie does it again ... We all know he's an irritating bastard but unfortunately he has been right about some things so far. I really really hope he's wrong :headexplode: :headexplode: :headexplode: :headexplode: :headexplode:

Same old same old, but this time much hotter!

Damnit ! And all the ATI fanboys are again bashing in the nvidia topics I'm hanging around @ :/ I'm trying my best to defend nvidia (bud) but I haven't got much to counter with :/

Btw,the unigine Heaven 2.0 version demo is now available, but their site is getting hammered pretty hard,so the download speeds are pretty low,but here's some pictures of what they added beyond the 1.0 version:

Seems there's also options for extreme levels of tesselation and the size of it is about 2X larger than the original 1.0 version, clocking in at 230MB.

I'll be posting my own benchmarks likely later today or tomorrow,as the download speed is extremely slow right now.

If nvidia did indeed post benchmarks of Dirt 2 running DX9 and claiming that they were in fact DX11, they've stooped to a new low.
Gonna give them the benefit of the doubt though as it is in fact coming from Charlie(the most avid nvidia hater out there). MikeC and Rollo seems to like them well enough so I've still got my hopes up! :)

He's probably right somehow, it's hot and hard to manufacture. Yield rates seem to be somewhere between 40 and 50 percent. 5870 also is below 60% though. I don't care about how long it lives because of 2 year warranty, that's much longer than I'll ever own a graphics card. He's wrong about it being slow though.

I see unigine added more tesselation to an already unrealistic level of tesselation... wonder who conviced them to do that...

I think it's a valid approach for a benchmark to test the extremes.

DX11 merely consists of compute shaders and tesselation, so this is what a DX11 benchmark should focus on. The first real next gen DX11 games except for Metro 2033 will probably be Crysis 2 and STALKER 2 which will use CryEngine 3, so it will be interesting to see how they perform.

You can now choose the amount of tesselation you want on the benchmark. It gives you a box with options, between disabled, moderate, normal, extreme

I wonder who convinced them to do that? :)

Where are these Dirt2 benchmarks Charlie is going on about? I sure as hell haven't see any Dirt2 benchmarks from nvidia, you?

There has been an official presentation as well as inofficial benchmarks from arabhardware.net.

My result at the same settings used in the 1.0 version of the heaven benchmark, but with the tesselation option set to extreme mode:

http://i765.photobucket.com/albums/xx298/Superfly101_02/Capture11.jpg

Looks even nicer than the 1.0 version, with several new scenes added in(26 scenes in total),oh and the minimum frame rate happened when the hard drive was loading something at one point.

I haven't seen them, and I have the press kit. (?)

You've got to give it to that guy- he's consistent!

Interesting results for sure.....It seems that this benchmark really is focused on tesselation workloads since disabling AA in this benchmark result that i'm about to show, didn't increase the overall average FPS that much(only 4 Fps higher):

http://i765.photobucket.com/albums/xx298/Superfly101_02/Capture12.jpg

You'd think that removing the AA workload with this much geometry would help out overall performance to a much higher degree than it did,but the benchmark doesn't seem to impose a lot of work on the AA front or raw fillrate either.
