The brutal settings that will make any card cry uncle for sure.....5760*1200 resolutions, and it is quite a graphics show across 3 displays running at 1920*1200 each one:

Minimum FPS probably (hopefully) is where the GTX 4x0 will join the game.
But why the hell do you still use Vista? :D

It's been out for 3 years now and is already on it's 3rd service pack, and drivers are mature for it overall,as well as having support for DX11,just like windows 7 does,so i don't really see a reason to change for windows 7.

At least with Vista,i was pretty much forced to do it over Windows XP since DX10 was restricted to it and it was the only O/S that would have crossfire X support on ATI's side of things, but even then,i only changed once the first service pack was released and video card drivers performed on par with Windows XP(about a year after it's official release in late january 2007).

WOW 100 bucks more for crappy performance. I think I'll stick with my 5870's (nana2)

Physx or not.

Those numbers look quite a bit different than the ones here though, and I doubt its due to the 16x AF:

5870 gets 24.5/22
295 gets 25.3/20

this really dissapointing after all the wait we have had. my 280,s run it faster im sure.
this is maybe why nvidia didnt want ppl to test the card before the launch date VERY VERY SAD DAY...

I HOPE THIS IS SOME KINDA WIND UP<>..

I would still take all of this with a grain of salt. Hell in some of these benchmarks the 470 and 480 are the fastest single GPU and in others the 5870 is. I would wait until the 26th before making up your mind. There is to much misinformation going around ATM to make an informed decision.

I for one hope the GTX480 sucks... lol. (says the man that just plopped down $1400.00 for 2 ati5970's two weeks ago.) (don't want to hurt my ego... lol.)

Competition is always good. You don't need the GTX480 to suck as the 5970 is already a very fast card. Just remember there is always something faster just around the corner. :D

ill wait for more comparisons to the 295

i would never go ATI atm though

i think physx IS worth is, and the drivers as always are better

Look at the date on those graphs - the 5870 has received massive performance upgrades since then. :)

I think the GTX 480 is going to shine with SSAA though! 1920x1200 + 4xMSAA is so yesterday! :bleh: Hopefully some reviewer is going to do some SSAA benchmarks and quality comparisons(MikeC?). I know that this is what a lot of people would like to see!

Dual Fermi card uncertain

Not coming to a theater near you soon

We have asked around and most Nvidia partners have told us that they will be happy once Fermi single chip start selling and all of them expect healthy demand for this card. They are preparing to start selling Geforce GTX 480 and Geforce GTX 470 and at this time, most of them are left in the dark about a possible dual-GPU Fermi based card.

Since such a card would have a huge TDP, around 400W in the best case scenario, there is a big chance that Nvidia will wait for some future chips, eg. a mobile version of Fermi to make such a card.

Our sources are suggesting that they are not aware of any dual-Fermi slated to appear this Spring. If all goes well we might see the dual Fermi or some derived dual Fermi around Computex time, in the first days of June 2010.

Until dual Fermi comes out, Radeon HD 5970 remains king of the hill. Who would have thought that buying this card would prove to be such a great investment.

http://www.fudzilla.com/content/view/18199/65/

I can't see a dual Fermi happening until a 32/28nm or B revision, if at all.

Don't really understand why you'd need a dual card when you can SLi/CF cards so easily, unless you want quad SLI/CF or don't have enough free PCI-E slots. Imho it's not that big of a deal.

the true results will be when the 400's are released and we get user feedback

just looked on a retailers website at the 5970's and people saying while its powerful the drivers are still crap

Yeah santa told me so too.. :bleh:

Don't really like day 1 benchmarks to be honest - the driver improvements that come later always add a lot of juice. So if the GTX 480 is as fast as the 5870(or even a little bit faster) on launch day - just imagine what newer driver revisions will do for the performance! This is a whole new architecture so the performance is bound to get better.
