Here is my same run.

* I have a feeling that 2X GTX480's will beat this score...

I'm sure 3X GTX480's will be into the 90+ fps range.

I think NVIDIA must be in trouble due to they are building a "CUDA" card not a "Game " card ...........
BTW : GTX480 SLI ... should have at least 850W in need ...

Just spoke to the guys over at OCUK. They said the cards will be available for pre-order on the 28th with nothing available for a week+ after. Similar story at CCLonline. Scan wouldn't say anything about the cards whatsoever.

Everyone knows that the actual launch has been delayed to April 6th. The NDA lifts on the 26th though. :)

I for one hope the GTX480 sucks... lol. (says the man that just plopped down $1400.00 for 2 ati5970's two weeks ago.) (don't want to hurt my ego... lol.)

aren't you a girl?

Yeah, WTF sowk??

Maybe she had the op. :bleh:

Scan must have them in to be able to do this 'try before you buy' thing. I wonder if they've got something going on with nVidia.

Well they are hosting a launch party, which would be hard if you didn't have any cards to launch. :D

It's been out for 3 years now and is already on it's 3rd service pack

Windows 7 feels like Vista with three more Service Packs and better performance though :D

why did you quote end up in a thread about the new nvidia cards???

nub! :p

God knows why :p

WOW 100 bucks more for crappy performance. I think I'll stick with my 5870's (nana2)

Physx or not.

It's as fast as an 5870, so it's the same crappy performance http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/images/icons/icon12.gif

I don't know if the PCGH benchmark is fake, but it was known since the CES that Fermi performs "bad" (not much better than an 5870) in Crysis. Don't worry though, this doesn't reflect overall performance :)

/e: the benchmark is fake, which has been officially confirmed by one of the reviewers and on their site:

As I said, Crysis (Warhead) performance is still bad though.

Heavily underclocked.

The cards run at 70C in idle and 90C under load.

Well no one was hitting on me so I got a sex change. LOL...

BTW... Nekrosoft nice catch. I figured I would throw that in and see if anyone would notice it. Good eye.

And I know this still didn't answer your question though, I'll keep you guessing... :)

.4ns can go up to 5gbps

Which means 1200Mhz would be standard (not overclocked).

100 bucks more for the same performance :headexplode:

Also do you have any english links. I don't speak german,

Eh, yeah, if you only play Crysis, you'd better get a HD 5870 with 2GB VRAM (nana2)

They just confirmed that their actual benchmarks look different so the ones posted in this thread from pcgameshardware are fake.

You were right, but I was just joking. :) Lot of people claiming they have "sources" when in fact the only source they have is their pea-sized brain.

Dunno if anyone has seen it yet,but it's supposedly a picture of a triple SLI setup, which i'm assuming are GTX470 cards given that we can't see the top heatpipes like the GTX480 uses, using that thermaltake case with the dedicated cooling fan and air duct for the cards.

Actually i linked that more in the sense that it might need that particular case for those Triple SLI setups,if indeed the cards do use a fair amount of power above what ATI does, and you want to keep them running at cool temperatures....Even more so if overclocking is attempted.

Put it this way,my cards already use 294 watts for each one,so that's nearly 600 watts and since they're close to eachother like that picture shows, when running demanding settings the latest games,i can hear the fans operating on mine above the noise from the case fans....Not to a huge degree, but it's noticable, even more so when they are overclocked.

3 GTX480 cards use 250 watts a piece,so 3 of them working together comes to a 750 watt total, which is 150 watts higher than my setup....See the potential problem here?
