So?

More power being used between the 3 cards, means more heat being released inside the system, and as you can see the gap between the 1st and 2nd card is minimal when it comes to allowing the fan on each card the room it needs to intake fresh air, hence the need for that intake duct with it's own fan to push air towards the cards.

What happens to triple GTX480 SLI setups that aren't using that case though?....They might run hotter overall and the fans on each card spin faster(and louder)....Just a thought.

Obviously water cooling solves the whole issue for both silence and working better than any air cooler ever will, and even allowing higher overclocks, but that's another 700~800$ for a good water cooling setup between all the seperate parts.

He said 'so?' because you're stating the ****ing obvious. Just another BS post to have another little dig.

Please stick to facts instead of just spewing out everything that comes into your head. You clearly don't know what you are talking about. You also provide no proof to what you are saying.
Nvidia's engineers have certainly taken Tri-SLI into account when deciding on the cooling.

It's based on experience using Multi GPU setups for the last couple of years actually, and my cards are using less power, even though they're powering 4 GPU's in total, using 2 cards(not 3),and i can still hear them when running demanding games/benchmarks,and the noise becomes more even more obvious when they are overclocked.

I'm sure Nvidia engineers are very competent, but you can't bend the laws of physics either here.

Enrico_be: Those pictures have to be fake, because according to Shadow001 you'd have to "bend the laws of physics" in order to be able to run tri-sli with GTX 480s. :rofl

I said inside a case and keep both noise and temperatures under control, not in an open air environment....:p

Unless users are planning to do that,in which case there's this to help make it look better....

This was against Catalyst 10.2, there has been a new Nvidia driver release too though lately so those values shouldn't be too far off overall.

Pretty good results, but we'll see how it does against cat 10.3 come Friday. :)

If that's true I don't think the scaling is up to nVidia's usual standards. Early days for drivers though. Very odd result in L4D 4xAA

hmm yea, I also just noticed that :/

My overall impression is that it's not bad but I expected a little bit more to be honest but I'm happy if those are gonna be the review results :)

I would state that this is SLI profile not working. But in the middle of all the BS lately, I will wait for Friday. Silly season is getting really hot now

Yeah you're right, in fanboy land gaining 20-30% isn't that impressive... but being 5% faster is OMFG MUST HAVE!!!!1111oneone Right?

How the hell do you even know as to what he was not impressed about? You dont as he didn't say. Hell it could be about the Eyefinity 6 card for all you know.

Or, it could be about the catalyst 10.3a performance review. You know, what was actually in the link.

But while we're ignoring links, I'm speculating that his disappointment stems from the lack of unicorns in his chicken soup.
