View Full Version : Any way to boost EVGA Precision "Auto" fan speed?

Even if my GPU is in the upper 80's my fan only runs at about 65%. I would think once I'm into the 80's, especially the upper 80's, the fan would be at or near 100%. Stalker is about the only game where the GPU gets to hot for Auto mode, and I have to manually set it at 90% to keep it cool, but if possible I would prefer to leave it at auto if I can get it to run faster than 65%. Am I stuck, or do I have another option?

You should pop over to the evga gaming forums.
I just puffed one so I'm feeling extra nice here ya go: http://www.evga.com/forums/tt.aspx?forumid=22
You can configure fan profiles for individual cards in the NVCP. I did this recently and it's unnecessarily complicated, but do-able and it works. You'll need nVidia System Tools..

I did the same thing as Revs. I set it so the fan is always at 75% then when the gpu gets over 80C it makes the fan run at 100%. When the temps get lower than 75C it returns the fan to running at 75%. Works great.

I know you didn't ask about Rivatuner but...
This gives me a minimum fan speed of 45% and raises the speed of the fan in proportion with the temp of the GPU till 100% / 100c
It actually runs a little over the C reading coz I prefer it that way.

Power User/RivatunerFan/AutoFanSpeedControl 3 (i think that's the thing)

Low limit = 0
High Limit = 90
If you want the fan speed to ramp up faster ,change T-range 53 to more but there's not much point.

The web page I got the info from would be a better source than me but I'm ****ed if I can find it now
I still load the saved fan profile and enable the server from buttons and I'm sure there's no need for that....
THIS ONLY WORKS FOR GTX260 AFAIK
