Turn-off accoustic management?

Noobie question coming up...

Does anyone know how to shut-off the accoustic management on a Seagate IDE HD? It robs performance and I was curious to see how much of a difference it actually makes...

go onto their site, I think it's done in the BIOS settings, and you need a boot disk or something...not sure how Segate does it tho, but it should be on their site nonetheless in some software tool...

I can find references to it, but no actual method to turn it off....any help?

I did a cursory search myself and couldn't come up with anything either. :confused:
