Are Chaintech Nvidia Cards any good? I was planning to get one.

they did IMO make a gr8 GF3 ti200 128mb back in teh day... don't know how they're faring now... what card u lookin @?

I was looking at getting the 128MB FX5200 because it is $70 at newegg.

You'd probably be pretty disappointed going from a strong running 128bit memory interface GF3 to a 64 bit interface FX5200, which I think the $70 ones are. You can get a 128mb ti200 for $70 @ some hardware trading threads/sites... Or even a high clocked 64mb Radeon8500... Throw $5-$10 on top of that, and you can get a ti4200!

I stepped WAY down accidentally and ended up with a weak 5200, gettin about 5200 3dmarks and only having GREAT playability on older games...

a "true" 5200 with 128bit memory interface might be worth $70 tho...

I believe if i not mistaken the card is the 128bit FX5200.

ugh.....i'm going to recommend against it, but it's ultimately up to you. the 4200 would be a better choice, despite it's age. however, if the card works out and ur happy, good for you :) . it's just that i've heard that the 5200 is about as fast as an mx440 but with dx9 features. and the geforce3 is much faster than an mx440.
