YES , nirvana can be reached.

I have an e VGA 5900 ultra 256.

Using the new performance BIOS (500/900) and the July 2nd Det 44.71

3d Mark 9latest) will give 6891 score

My doom 3 demo at max resolution (an "8" in the CFG) run's flawlwssly. OpenGL is fixed again.

Fan Speed up and slow down for 3d is consistent.

No lock -ups

Pure eye Candy

It took fumbling with 4 driver versions and three bioses, but I am now content.

A French site has just released them.
WinAce compression, beta. (9:00 PM Wed.)

Here's my mini review of them as I've only run 3DMark 2003 so far.

The 3Dmark2003 Troll's Lair #1 shows more color in the two guys playing that rock game. The EVGA released 44.67's showed the trolls as
more earth colored. However, on Trolls Lair CPU test, when she opens the
door, there are white sprites twinkling on the doors black edge. I did not see this in the 44.67's. Also, as she's walking towards the bookshelf to open the secret panel, I noticed lines being drawn on
some of the square textures of the bookshelf.

My 3dmark 2003 marks didn't improve overall, almost exactly the same.
But the trolls playing rock game are much more colorful.

Did anyone notice that those guys in theTrolls Lair 3dmark 2003 are much less earth colored now? They have much more color with these drivers.

I noticed sprites on the black edge of the door when she enters the library. These were not seen in the 44.67's with my setup.

I also saw lines being drawn when she approached the bookshelf, also not seen in the 44.67's.

3Dmark 2003 scores were identical to the 44.67's.

Hello Caslon,

Thanks for the initial testing. I just finished downloading it over 56k. Would you care to take some "screenshots" showing the difference, especially the trolls' color?

Overall, with these image quality differences, would you say 44.71 is better than 44.67 or is it worse?

Thanks!

Same as others here: Slight benchmark performance decrease 3dMark2003, 2001, UT2003. Perhaps more colorful in 3dMark2003. Ansio still doesn't work for applications.

I just isntalled them and they FIXED my infinite loop errors! I was using 44.65 before. Also, in HL (DoD to be exact) I was running with 2x AA, 8x Application AF, 1024x768 and it works fine. The AF is there and so is the AA. It might have been a little slower than with the 44.65s but then again, there were a few more people on the server than before...

Oh well, they work really good so far :)

I noticed with these in CS on light backgrounds my crosshair would become slightly fuzzy; it doesnt happen on the 44.67s for me so back to them. (*prays his video card isnt coming close to death*)

Venturi,

Can you attach the 3 BIOS files you have for your EVGA 5900u, along with the BIOS flashing reader/writer you are using?

I would love to play around with those.

Thanks!

The 44.71's have been the best of the 4x.xx series yet, at least on my config using WinXP. No bsod's, infinite loop or otherwise.

Everything works and they give decent IQ and stability. I've reverted back to these from later ones and I"ll probably stick with the 44.71's until I see that new "or better" CP features have been added to future drivers.

Caused artifacts in Medal of Honor and crashes Falcon 4.0. Same happens with the 44.67 drivers. I run these on my 5800.

Those drivers fixed the AA problems in Morrowind for me, but they created an even worse problem: Pixel Shading now simply looks awful in it... Rechecked with 44.03, and those didn't have that problem.
Going to try a few more driver revisions now...

Hey Uttar,

Can you describe the pixel shading glitch in that you're getting with the 44.71's in Morrowind?

When I installed the 44.71's I did have to go back and re-enable pixel shading in Morrowind. Oddly, it was the only driver set that I had to do that with.
