Just got it in the mail and this is the weirdest AMD hsf ive seen outta the 8 or so ive bought. I bought the box retail cuzz im broke and cant plunk down the 50 bux for an SLK900U. The bottom of the heatsink has a big Copper Core in it and the fan has those weird curved up blades that i think "lower noise" Also i didnt think the barton chips were green? BTW ive never bought barton chips only seen em in reviews.

I got mine yesterday and had the same type-o-heatsink & CPU....but it was like a brownish-red/green, if that makes any sense.

I scraped that yellow thermal stuff off me copper plug and used some nanotherm blue II instead, but other than that I went stock for now too 'til I could afford a bit better heatsink/fan. (The PC show comes to town tomorrow...hmmmm.... ;) )

The heatsink in my retail Barton 2500 was all aluminum - no copper at all!

I'm prolly gonna put my SumpPump back in! :p
