View Full Version : ATI 9800 Pro 3DMark 2003 scores.
What 3DMark 2003 scores are users getting on their ATI 9800 Pro cards? My results are 5674 and I'm wondering if that is in the "ball-park".
I'm curios what results other users are getting. I know there are several reviews out there but sometimes it's good to hear from other users besides from a major web site. Sometime I wonder if the companies send the big hardware sites "decked" out proto-type cards to benchmark.
My cpu is an AMD 3000XP with 400MHZ FSB, Asus A7N8X motherboard and 400mhz Corsair DDR. OS is WinXP Pro.

On my system below i get about 5700ish 3dmark03's.
I built this system for stability, no OC, and the ram is actually pritty slow. I belive with your sytem and a 9800Pro you would get in the 6000's
Not considered overclocking yet...overclocking makes me a little nervous. I've heard video cards wear out much faster with overclocking but not sure how true that is.
Is Powerstrip the tool for OC your video card?
Thanks

That may be ture,
OC dose not give me much of a boost, maybe 5fps, and thats not worht my time right now, when new killer games come out that really suck the graphcis power ill probly oc then.
I got my refurbed 9700np up to 392/338 and I score >5400 on 3D2K3. This is on a XP 1600+@150 (1900+).
I noticed my new CPU is not multiplier locked...so I cranked it to 11x400mhz which bumped me from a 3000XP to a 3200XP.
3DMarks 2003 went to 5896...not bad...so far still stable.
Anyone overclock their ATI 9800Pro's? What speeds have you found that worked?
What software is best used for overclocking video cards?

If you overclock that card just for benchmarking and leave it stock for games, it shouldnt really shorten its life and you may get like 7k marks. what do you get in 2001?
Have not tried 3DMark 2001 yet. I figured to truly use the DirectX9 hardware features with the ATI 9800 Pro it would be more accurate to use the 2003 edition.
At this point I don't think I will overclock the video card yet until I see new games choking the card. Right now anything I throw at the card is as smooth as glass.
Trying to attach a picture of my new rig :) Not sure it's going to work.
Picture of my box at night :)
It makes a good bug trap...all the lights and the fans grind them up into tiny pieces :)
