new ati radeon 9800 Pro owner

so far tested 43 games all fast flawless and great image quality..i am very impressed on how good ati drivers have become ;)

waited for almost a year for nvidia to release a good card, well they did with the fx5900 ultra...but still hard to find around here.

radeon 9800 pro wins 70% on the bechmarks on most review sites

IQ goes to Ati

and the radeon was cheaper too

the only question i had was drivers...not dissapointed at all so far :D

Congrats man, I love mine. Kicks arse. The only driver probs I have found is with older games, but who plays those? lol

Well good sir, I didn't buy a 9800 to play HL, if I played HL still, I would have stuck with a GF3, HL is a waste of the 9800's capabilities, IMO. :)

And no, I am not slagging HL or CS, just that I don't thing people bother upgrading to a high end DX9 card to play them. :D

HL is such an old game I would rather spend my time flying FB or playing ravenshield-I played it for about 2 months and didn't think it much of a game.

I guess I compose a part 25% of the gaming community ;) btw where did you pull that 75% from ? maybe your bottom ;)

I play half-life (DoD usually) at 1024x768, 8x Application AF, and usually with 2x AA. I get constant 85fps (vsync on) most of the time, and when its not at that, its locked at 45fps... I dont know why it does that, but its still playable, so Im not complaining :)

Id still like to see the game with 16x AF and 6x AA at constant 85fps :D :D

Not this again.... For the last time.... since half life works just fine on my 9700pro rig, your HL problem is because you dont know how to properly install and configure software and drivers. Furthermore you have messed up your OS and registry to the point where if you change anything the whole unstable mess comes crashing down.

Yeah, I've noticed that too. Some folks do so much registry and O/S "tweaking" that the second they change some hardware, the whole house of cards just collapses, and it simpler re-installing the o/s than trying to repair each issue one by one......
