I do however like how UK English uses S instead of Z in certain words, I catch myself spelling like that sometimes & end up preferring to keep the UK-style spelling.

Do you know how embarrassing it was for me in the school spelling bees? I've always had a knack for spelling perfectly, but when they asked me to spell something that could be spelled two different ways, I always had to ask if they wanted the American spelling or "the old" spelling.

People thought I was being a smartass, but I didn't want to lose due to a technicality. I just saw my biggest childhood competitor on Myspace...she's a military girl now. I left her a comment on how hot she looks in body armor while holding an assault rifle. Too bad she's married. :(
