AMD will be offering new board spec to AIBs including Dual Cypress XT ultra low leakage GPU’s. One of the first models will be Asus ROG ARES which will feature 850MHz core clock, 1200MHz memory clock and 4GB of GDDR5. Asus ROG ARES thermal specification includes 100mm wide fan, 32mm thick, 600% higher air-flow, 100% pure copper and 8 ultra-wide heat-pipes. Also the noise level should be significantly lower @ 4200rpm; ARES 37dB; ref hemlock; 44,5dB.

Asus says performance in 3DMark Vantage Extreme-preset is ~28% better than ATI Radeon HD 5970 reference design.

Asus ROG ARES will be Limited Edition and on display at Cebit.

^^ 6 cores will not make your gaming any faster, the truth is, if they made 1 single core that was kickass, it will blow anything out of the water, but they think more cores is more faster, yeah maybe in windows programs like adobe and flash ex ex

yeah I know that just cuz it has 6 cores not everything is going to use them all kinda like quad core
well lets say a nice quad core and one of these would be sweet

Personally I quite like the design. It is fitting for a beast of a card like this one.

Although it is out of my reach. I more interested if AMD will release a HD 5890 eventually.

Still, impressive card. The first 5000 card with no compromises at all.

Dual GPU board....so 2gb frame buffer per gpu.....still relatively insane...

Erm, who needs 4GB of video memory now anyway? Eyefinity? o.O

Anyway, i dont know what words can describe that cooler, its just too weird.

As Johnny said, it's 2gb per GPU. GTA4 would benefit with the extra memory to name one. FSX to name another. That cooler is gonna be blowing hot air in to the case, which is a detriment unless you have very good air flow through your case. Still, killer card.

I just read that it's suppose to use a 8 pin + 8 pin + 6 pin for power.

Seriously? You never multi-task or anything? Playing rts games is significantly better on multi-core chips as well.

Sorry my nuclear power station is unable to cope with the drain on the power supply this card causes.

I might get one of these, if a company other than ASUS makes one and the price isnt too redicilous.

I used to, but their product support shows they really don't give a sh!t about their customers.
