bob, can you post a picture of your keyboard in dark? I wanted to see how it looks in dark. if possible from standing position.

i will tomorrow. the keys glow white, the "F"-keys glow yellow. There is no "border" lights or anything like that. Only the actual letters/symbols glow. There are 4 levels of brightness, with the 4th being totally off. It's very very thin keyboard.
I play TF2/Cod4/L4D2 on it, and have not had anything go wrong once.

EDIT: lol nvm, you can see the outline of the keys in the dark, but its light from the surrounding "icon" leds.

I prefer this keyboard (http://www.steelseries.com/us/products/keyboards/merc/information), I have been using it for years (the first generation, this is the second generation). I never could get used to the way my fingers had to bend for the normal key configuration, my fingers are a bit longer than most. With the Merc keyboard I can still use the default key configuration within games but the keys on the board itself are setup in a way that makes it easier for me to use, especially now that I am missing the end of my middle finger on my left hand, still trying to get used to it.

The roccat keyboard is nice, but if you can afford the g19, that one beats all the others hands down.

I love my Saitek 2

Love my G19. People say the screen isn't much use but I use it in almost everything I do. Powered USB's are handy as heck, too. Roccat looks nice though, so I voted that too :). Only problem with the G19 is it need to be plugged in through an power adapter. Not the end of the world though.

I love my Saitek 2

Yeah, great board (I assume you mean Saitek Eclipse II)

I had a G15 Mk2 before the G19 which is also very good, but not many macro keys which puts many off.

That ROCCAT Valo looks sweet. I really like my G15, so the G19 should be a really good board too.

I have never seen this ROCCAT company. That keyboard is just bad a** looking, that KONE mouse looks really nice too. Wish I would have known about them before I purchased my Logitec stuff.

I voted for the slim, for typing its the sh!t, I really love mine. But for gaming not so much I would get a G13, it may take you a week or so to get used to it, but once you do you will love it.

I think the biggest question is whether or not you'll use the macro keys. Personally I'd never take the time to set them up and then use them.

The only thing I remember about ROCCAT was someone having difficulty RMAing a broken mouse. Think they got it straightened out eventually but it took a long time.

Out of those choices I guess I'd go with the G110. Backlight, media keys, and you can use your own wrist rest with it.

What the hell? That Roccat keyboard is $140-$160 and its only available at two stores.

No freaking way I'd ever spend that much on a keyboard. I'd never spend HALF that much on a keyboard.

If it was $60, maybe...

What the hell is right... just upgraded my $15 generic black ms keyboard to a Microsoft X4 and thought I was spending a lot. This just seem unnecessary.

has anyone here actually used roccat?

i wonder how the keys feel

They look like slim keys to me.

Which is why I voted for it. :p

I voted for that and the Logitech Illuminated.

probably notebook style feel. i know for gaming especially the slim style keys take some getting used to. for tactile typing however, they are much nicer and often speed up WPMs.

eww usb 1.1.

Although the keys are rather flat, they nevertheless have a short and direct pressure point. For people who are writing a lot, the keystroke could have been defined a little clearer though.

apparently a typing bug with drivers/firmware too?

...i'm sticking with my choice of #3

sorry necro, have been feeling awful today. I'll take that pic of keyboard for you.....sometime within the next 2 years

Love my G19. People say the screen isn't much use but I use it in almost everything I do.

are there any more usefull apps for the g19? i still find the screen on my g15 quite useless.

are there more stock apps? or what usefull apps do you use?

does it still run many programs in background?

here ya go. thats the brightest setting. it's a very simple design, obviously no huge screens or anything like that, gets the job done very well for me. would be a slight + if the logitech logo thats in the center "wrist rest" area would light up too, but no biggie.

i use a saitek eclipse 3 for typing on

logitech G13 for gaming (took a while to get used to it but i would never use a KB again for gaming, G13 is great for gaming with now)
