They seem to work fine. No speed improvements, but nothing seems broken in the games I've tried. (Vampire: Masquerade, Quake 3, Enemy Territory, Midnight Club 2, and even 3dmark 2001)

I installed em, and the problems with the Half-Life Steam have been fixed!

Woah, I didn't know Cat3.6 was being released so soon after Cat3.5, any word on changes? Did they fix the damned HL esc delay? Not that I actually play CS anymore....but assuming I ever get back into it :p

What delay, i never had any or seen any probs with the Esc. Sounds serious though, noone ever wants to die while tryig to quit the game;)

ps. i just started a few weeks ago, playing again.:beer2:

When I installed the new Cats 3.6 I can no longer get Elite Force II to work :(

On startup the display is corrupt...anyone else see this?

Odd, i installed the 3.6's and i have no change that i can tell in Elite Force II. You could try reverting back to 3.5's or maybe reinstall efII? but then youll lose all your saves hm.

The smoke lag affects all video cards... to my knowledge..

There's really nothing you can do about it...

Apparantly they have - I can't confirm it for myself because I don't play CounterStrike either.

This release (and the next couple by the sound of it) are going to concentrate almost solely on bugfixes, so new features will be on the back burner for a couple of months.

I installed the new 3.6 display driver and my computer was all messed up. I couldn't run any game or 3dmarks. I reinstalled 3.5 but it was doing the same thing.Finally I uninstaslled the driver and rebooted my computer.Windows detected my video card and installed the 3.6 driver and now it works, Except i lost a few points in 3dmark03 and 2001. This is very werid

Did you install the new drivers over the old ones? If so that was your problem right there.

Surely that is a game engine problem and not a driver problem...CS is notorious for its laggy smoke.

I'll give these a try tonight but think I'm sticking w/ the 3.5's for my review. Ain't rerunning benchmarkings for the 3rd time though, dang Terry and his driver team, getting 'bout as bad as Nvidia with all these releases, heh :D

The esc crash yes, it has been fixed since cats 3.4, but now you have the esc delay bug, for me, if i press esc or do alt tab during game, it will take like between 7 and 20 seconds to be back on game ... thats very annoying ...

i really dont care if the game is old or not, the gameplay (teamplay ) is great... and ho... it's so old that everybody plays the game...
