Where has it been posted they are only making 15,000 470's. I would find that impossible to believe considering all the money they would have pumped into getting Fermi up and running. Not from semi inaccurate I hope.

Well, suposedly, and again this is just a rumor of course, seems there's a B1 revision of Fermi in the works which is the one Nvidia will produce in high volumes in Q2,so it doesn't make sence to make the A3 stepping in large volumes

Now what are the changes in the B1 revision i have no clue, but it's a given that we can assume higher performance compared to the A3 revision(higher clocks perhaps?),since ATI has a refresh lineup coming out soon, and has even EOL'd their current lineup, meaning brands carrying ATI cards, can't order any more of the current ones, only the refresh versions due out in april.

Yah, I would love to know as well.

This just seems an arbitrary number :)

Nvidia usually has good product availability.

Regardless, it is almost D-day :D Getting excited.

If you look at the heaven bench nVidia ran in DX11 with the 480 the card never falls below 32FPS the entire time @ 1920x1080. The 5870 dips below 20 at least 5 times. Sometimes we may be talking as low as 15FPS, hard to tell with the chart.

However on the other hand, if you ignore the heaven bench and look at DX11 titles currently out, you'll see something as weak as a 5830 can push them fine @ 1920x1080.

For me it's going to come down to how much faster the 480 is than a 5870 and of course, the asking price.

According to a German hardware site, which did an interview with nV at Cebit last week, there will be much more cards than that. They'll have about the same amount of cards as with the highly popular 8800GT back then.

Sounds good. I just hope I can manage to grab at least one, hopefully two though. :)
