Release Highlights:
This driver is recommended for the StarCraft II beta.

It supports GeForce 6, 7, 8, 9, 100, 200, and 300-series desktop GPUs and ION desktop GPUs.

This release adds compatibility fixes for the StarCraft II beta and for some DirectX 8 applications but is otherwise identical to version 197.13.

i tried these today with cod W@W and BC2, they seem to be better for BC2 but caused 1 second pauses in W@W. but these days for me its all about BC2, so they stay for now ;)

These drivers have broken 120hz in a very weird way on my Iiyama HM903DT, nv 8500 GT

1024x786@120hz is my normal setting for FPS games, it's not entirely uncomon for a new driver to need the image to be moved/scaled a little again, but normally that alters the black border around the image, with these drivers the border stays the same, and the image is being squished, and the monitor settings dont reach far enough to actually get all the image visible. a good inch or so of the image at 1024x168 is missing from both sides.

The driver seems fine at higher or lower refresh rates, only 120hz is messed up :(#

dragging windows around there is noticeable distortion at the screen edges.

First time I've ever seen anything like this with WHQL or beta drivers for any of the nvidia cards I've had with this monitor.

EDIT: Bah, totally stripped out these drivers and tried the 196.34 beta's, they have the same problem, only at 120hz.

Tried the 195.81 betas rather than going back to the last WHQL and they are fine, it's only all the 196 series messed up so far.

Still the same but these are WORSE.

Now the horizontal scaling is so bad at 1024x768:120 no amount of monitor configuration can even get my start button to be visible in the slightest!

stop using VGA cables, these type of issues are caused by EDID (Extended display identification data) it integrated part in monitor firmware.

last i heard 400 series retail availability will start on April 6th, not March 26th. Match 26th is just official reveal.

Even if we have to wait till the 6th, I'm sure there are a couple of reviewers who could make use of a 400 series driver as soon as the NDA is lifted.

Good luck getting non VGA input to an Iiyama CRT <facepalm>

I have disabled EDID anyway (removed EDID timer pin), as the lst 2 years odd of nvidia drivers were hosing the EDID info.

If I hadn't done that then it wouldn't be working perfectly with the 195.81 and earlier drivers either.

only thing to blame is Iiyama, they screwed up the EDID, maybe it is time to ditch that dinosaur.

from time to time there are monitors with incorrect EDID

from time to time there are monitors with incorrect EDID

The EDID was fine for months, then broken for nearly a year of nvidia driver updates, then fine for 5 or 6 years worth of nvidia drivers, and it's only been a problem again since the 3rd or 4th release of the nvidia win7 drivers (starting from win7 beta2)

The many years of no problems with EDID control of the rez and refresh rates with various driver revisions cause me to strongly believe it is Nvidia at fault not Iiyama.

And why would I ditch a perfectly functioning monitor when nothing out there performs better?
