Got some nice, juicy music news in case you folks don't know! :D

Queen recently went into the studio and re-recorded a stylized version of "We Will Rock You" with Aussie Pop/Rock legend John Farnham. Queen axe-strangler Brian May stated at his official website that he and surviving chop-meister Roger Taylor are immensely exited about this re-recording of the classic with Farnham at the microphone. He also said that he himself recorded 16-seperate guitar licks and an invigorated Roger laid the new drum tracks in less than 3 takes. "I know which version that'll I be jamming to in my car now," May quipped. The reworked track is expected to be included on Farnham's forthcoming "Best Of" CD that will also contain his hits with EMI and BMG.

John Purdell, a large name in the rock business, has suddenly died of cancer early Friday morning. He was touring with Lou Gramm up until two weeks ago when he was hospitialized. Purdell wore many hats such as producer, engineer, musician, songwriter and chances are, you've heard him before as he was responsible for the lush string arrangement on Ozzy's classic "No More Tears" and the soaring background vocals on Motley Crue's "Girls, Girls, Girls," His magic touch graced many a platinum selling artist. His credits read like a who's who of the rock world: Poison, Foreigner, Dream Theater, Ozzy Osbourne, Heart, Brett Walker, Cincerella, Kix, Ted Nugent, Alice Cooper, LA Guns, Tangier, Bonham and Britny Fox. Purdell has also played on records by Night Ranger, Stryper, Quiet Riot, Love/Hate, Junkyard and Posion. He has also toured with Rick Springfield, Cinderella and Foreigner.

Lastly, some great news for Heavy Metal fans! Despite many denials from their management over the past few months, the band themselves have made it official as of this past Saturday...

After more than 12 years apart...JUDAS PRIEST IS BACK!!! :headbang:

Originally front man Rob Halford, double lead guitarists Glenn Tipton & K.K. Downing, bassist Ian Hill, and drummer Scott Travis have reunited! The definitive band members have been re-establishing their personal and professional relationships since 1999, which has done nothing but spark hundreds of reunion rumors along the way ever since. The reunion album and tour will also celebrate the band's 30th anniversary. Judas Priest and Ripper Owens, who replaced Halford in the early 1990s, have parted amicably by mutual agreement. The band is very grateful for Ripper's work in helping them to continue to bring Judas Priest's music to their millions of fans and they expect big things for him in the future. Judas Priest is set to enter the studio later this fall to record the TRUE followup to 1990's "Painkiller", which is expected to be released in the Spring of 2004 with an exhaustive worldwide live tour to follow.
