Ok so my graphic card , NVIDIA 9400GT , has a HDMI port. I was wondering that if i use the HDMI cable and connect the PS3 and Graphic card and then , using the VGA port can i output the display to the Monitor . I do this because my monitor doesnt have a HDMI port. Which software would i need to do this ?

That HDMI port on the card is for output only. You can get a HDMI to DVI cable and use that. If you have VGA only, then I dunno.

The other option to use to get a HDMI/DVI switch box.

your problem: HDMI is a pure digital connection and VGA is a pure analog connection.
DVI ports usually carry both.

If your monitor only has VGA and your PS3 only has HDMI, you would need a converter box to connect both. The problem is that those boxes cost between $100 and $300, so at that point, you'll be better off just getting a new monitor...

another one:, even more expensive: http://www.curtpalme.com/HDFury2.shtm

and a much cheaper one: DVI-D to VGA. You would just need a HDMI to DVI cable to connect it. Note that your monitor needs to support the resolution directly (720p or 1080p) through VGA. This one does not do any resizing:
