Your thought's on whether the 5970 will disappear before becoming a budget minded crossfire upgrade to an already acquired 5970. Basically to be in the $400.00 range.

Who knows, the 5970 may have no competitor looking at how much energy the GT300 uses. It could easily be an expensive card for a long time.

well, pre envy launch day, I hope not.
I'm just worried, considering the unavailability of the 59's vs availability of the 58's that they (the 59's) may just be a marketing phase that they may just phase out due to low yields (vs economical priorities) or something.
I want my voodoo 2 sli!!!

First the price has to drop to $599 MSRP, only very few were lucky to pay that price. It wont drop to $400.00 range for long time if ever, mainly because the card has no competition and very few are available.

Well, maybe it might be worth it later on. That is if ATI can do something to improve crossfire scaling.:(
