N8 - I was thinking of doing a similiar setup. Let me know how you like these cards and how they perform. Thanks buddy!

Well there is no known max speeds. You gotta test them out, I have both mine running at 625core 1050ram without an issue. I used games to test for artifacts, many people use benchmarks like vantage since it would stress the cards more but I rather know if the games display them since they rarely would stress the cards as much as vantage.
Just got by small steps, much like ocing a cpu. No big jumps.
If anything, try to get the low card to match the faster card, since SLi forces both cards to run at the same speed.

Sounds good. Ya, I've been looking at SLi 260s just from a price factor. A lot of sites have great deals on them right now.
If you have time for Crysis benchmarks, that would be cool. If not, don't worry about it buddy. I don't even have those games. :o

Um I doubt it would stay above 50fps at those settings during heavy scenes... Im jumping between 50 to 60 and I am running 8xCSAA @ 2048x1152.

40ish i guess
For my experience, all GTX260's will run at 700/1400/1200 with no problems and without really pushing it. Just a nice med/high OC :). Just keep an eye on temps.

260's are great cards to SLI, as long as you can get them cheap. If not, 5830's or 5850's would be a better buy nowadays. In Jan this year, 260's were amazingly cheap, like £110, but they've gone back up to £160 now, at least in the UK.

Those clocks look accurate.... I've owned a 260 before, my 2 roomates have them as well, it's a pretty standard overclock, but also fairly aggressive for most people.
$140 on sale in the US was the lowest that it got.... I sold mine used for $100 because it really wasn't worth much more at the time... kind of a bad deal in retro-spect... should have held onto it.

Will do. :)
Im running my 260 at the speeds in my sig, Have been doing so since the day i bought it close to release date lol, Its actually bios flashed to those speeds.
Idles at 40c and FurMark load (1920x1200 MSAA x8 stability test) is like 86c.
Still eats 99% of the games i throw at it.

what does bios flashing do for a gpu? Thanks

locks the oc into the bios so its no longer software controlled rather coded to the card so if you reinstall windows the OC is still there.

Yeah what |MaguS| said, I no longer need a 3rd party program to overclock. ;)
If i was to sell the card it would still run at these speeds for the person i sold it too.
