I know it's speculated that 890fx will but I'm curious if anyone knows if it's been hinted that 890gx will also support bulldozer.

Thanks,
Will

no one knows for sure, since they haven't announced what socket it will use

I thought I read somewhere that it will be using some variant of AM3.

To the best of my knowledge it will be AM3. I do not think AMD has plans to change sockets untill later next year... or not longer. If this does hold true, then at the most you'd need a simple BIOS update to have it work in any AM3 board. :)

Don't quote me though, as anything right now is just rumours.

I dont know whether Bulldozer will support AMD 890GX, accorded to AMD 2011 roadmap that next generation desktop chipset Hudson-D will support bulldozer and it will use Socket AM3+ and probably will move to AM4 in 2012 or later.

and Bulldozer is set to release in late 2011. 890gx is really not a big step from previous chipsets
