I'm sure that MikeC is pretty annoyed by the request but I just wanted to throw an idea back out . . . :captnkill:
If you are like me and are on your BB/iPhone/Droid a lot, you probably have wanted to check NVNews Forums while on the go right? I know I do, especially when I'm somewhere and bored outta my mind. :D And while the iPhone and Droid browsers can get to the forums with no problems, I just thought that there was a better and faster way of reading around the boards.
So here it is: Tapatalk (http://www.tapatalk.com). The Mod is free and there are free and paid versions of the mobile apps.
Is anyone else interested in something like this? I figured that if we can get a lot of interest going on, maybe MikeC will lend an ear. Thanks for letting me throw my suggestion out.

I was for this idea before and still am. Another forum I am on uses Tapatalk and it rocks.

If this was setup, I'd totally buy the paid version for my iphone. Having nvnews on my phone would be amazing...the integrated browser for the iphone blows donkeys for counterfeit quarters when it comes to viewing forums.

Agreed. The app is $3 but it would totally be worth it.

hell.... m.nvnews.net would be great. i use m.crackberry.com more than i use the regular one.

I don't like feedback. Makes me feel like I'm walking around with a ball and chain attached to my ankle. I have a full-time job and really don't need a second job at this stage of my career.

I also want to throw something out there- but from a different perspective...
You guys make these requests of Mike, with little consideration of everything he has to do to keep this site up and running.
Granted, I've no idea how hard or easy that may be- however I do understand he's a busy individual. I'd tread lightly as I'd rather this site be as little of a burden to him as possible so he doesn't get tired of it all and just scrap this place to lighten his load.
Just a thought... :)

I don't mean to push anything or to crack a whip over Mike's back. I just thought it would be an awesome way to access the forums from our mobile devices. Never meant to sound or come across as forceful or pushy.
Mike, if this is too much, then don't worry about it. You are boss around here and I can easily say that everyone greatly appreciates everything you've done, so you do what you wanna do bro. :D

I've avoided installing plug-ins in the past, since vBulletin supports requests that plug-ins be removed before they look at problems. But this app sounds worthwhile. I don't happen to own a smartphone, but I didn't realize it was such a pain to browse web sites with them.

surfing with a smartphone isnt impossible by any means. it's not too much of a pain, but with the advent of mobile devices and their push to be a more common way to browse the web, apps are being developed that cater to that. I think that's where all this comes from. People are mobile alot more and use their devices more than ever.
people just love nvnews so much they want to browse it as quickly and easily as possible :)

Agreed. Like I've said before, I can get to this site using my Droid with no problems, although it can be slow loading all the graphics and whatnot. I brought the idea up simply because there is a quicker way to access the forums while on the go.
And yes, I love NVNEWS this much! Haven't I already said many times that this is my home on the Interwebz? :wonder:
