At first glance when you read the title, you might think "no way in hell". I know I did when Kenny Smith first said it. However, the more I think about it, the more I think it might actually happen. Kevin Durant might just be better than Lebron. Obviously they have two different playstyles. Kevin Durant lacks a post game and ability to drive, but he can shoot from anywhere on the court, his defense is already MUCH better than where Lebron was at his age, and his work ethic is top notch. On the opposite side, Lebron has amazing ability to drive, has great defense currently, but his outside sucks and he's still very childish at times. Even at the young age of 21, I see Durant as a much more mature person all around than Lebron. Biggest advantage Kevin Durant has over Lebron is his attitude. His attitude is "I am better than you and I'm going to prove it. Any event I can join to prove I'm better than, I'll do.". While Lebron's attitude is more like "I'm so good, I don't need to prove it, so I won't. Now watch me dance".

I'm not saying Kevin Durant will pass Lebron for best player in the league in 3 years, but I'm saying its definitely a possibility. Durant has all the tools and has the work ethic to do it. I think the playoffs against the Lakers will show just how good Durant really is. I personally already see Kevin Durant as number 2 player in the league already.

What is everyone's opinion on this?

KD can drive, but his post-game is a little weak. If he keeps working, he can develop a Garnett like post-game.

I don't see him getting some of the calls that Lebron has been getting since his first year yet, but he could be up there soon.

Lebron can carry a team by himself to victory, Durant still needs a relatively decent supporting cast with Westbrook and others helping him.

He's going to become a better shooter, better rebounder and all that :)

I mean, HE WENT TO UT, HOOK EM' :bleh:

See, I disagree with this. Durant doesn't "need" a good supporting case anymore than Lebron. Lebron was just alone for so long, he got to show he could carry a team by himself. With Durant, his cast is so young, they only get better every year. Durant won't have to prove he can play without a supporting cast. Just because he doesn't have to prove it, doesn't mean he can't do it.

But that's a good thing though. The Thunder are so young that within a year or two, they will be legitimate contenders for the title with the EXACT same players. They have literally all the pieces they need right now. They just need more time to mature is all. Thats something Lebron never had. His team has always sucked :P.

I don't think so. KD35 is too young. He need to do more things.

I don't think you are Pau.
