I've been hearing word of the NV36 having taped-out recently, but I may be wrong. Anyway, has NVIDIA (or any other reliable source) mentioned anything significant about the mainstream series of NV35-based cards? I'm looking to upgrade my video card in the near future but I'd rather wait for the NV36 (or whatever its codename is) instead of buying an FX5600.

What is the nV36 supposed to be like? Is that there new mid or high end card? (I am SO behind in me homework... )

NV36/FX5700 is a mainstream GPU/card. It's a 4x1 like NV31. It won't completely replace NV31 according to most people.

Nevermind, I just found this thread (http://www.beyond3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6631&highlight=nv36). For now, it's anyone guess as to when and what.

From what I've heard, most people are saying that NV36 will not replace NV31.

Since it taped out recently, don't expect to see the chip for around 2 months after the tape out date.
