Thinking of picking up the Viewsonic 22" 120Hz monitor.

I've had headaches alot ever since I went to a 60Hz LCD and I really wanted to give one of these a try. I'm looking for opinions and thoughts from people that went from 60Hz to 120Hz for gaming especially. I don't watch movies just gaming.

Also, I'm not a fan of enabling vsync due to the input lag. So I'm looking to be able to use this without vsync enabled with rig in my sig.

Thanks

Don't know about ViewSonic 120hz ,but i have Alienware OptXTM AW2310 120hz, compared to my other Dell 60hz , difference is substantial when it comes to rendering fast moving objects.
Sorry thats all the impression i can give you :p

I'd like to try one, but I think I'll wait till I can get a 120Hz 1920x1200 LED Backlit IPS screen. :D

The more I'm reading I think I might go with this one (if I buy one at all)

Wish there were more choices than just the 4 out there.... :(

I cracked and ordered the 22" Viewsonic from Tigerdirect. I've got 30 days to decide how I like it. When we see more on the market and they have lower response and more features I was looking for I'll upgrade again. For now I just really want a 120Hz monitor.

And make it at least 24" preferable 27" or 30". I refuse to drop back to a smaller tn monitor. It seems like monitor tech is stuck in the mud. (dot)

Well if you want 120hz right now you don't have a choice. I want 120hz more than I want IPS right now.

Still loving my A-MVA panel as a compromise between the speed of TN and the viewing angles of IPS.

Not about to jump on the 3D/120Hz bandwagon just yet untill i see a monitor worthy of changing to and so far i havent.

why do people want more then 60hz anyways? its not like you can see it till your running 3D games. games run smooth with 60fps dont need more

If your 60Hz LCD gives you headaches, I wouldn't hold out that a 120Hz would fix it. Unlike CRTs, LCDs don't flash on and off 60 times a second, they just update whatever pixels have changed in that time while the rest stay the same color they had been. Upping the refresh on the CRT lessened what was essentially a strobe light effect and helped people who were sensitive to the 60 Hz strobe. With LCDs there is no strobe and for that reason I would not expect relief from a faster refresh. Definitely try before you buy if you can.
