Risen: performance questions?

So I just got this game "risen" the other day.

Absolutely hooked. I loved Gothic 1 and 2 and after playing this for a few hours I'm absolutely hooked.

Unfortunately my old 8800GT 320MB can't really keep up, and I don't want to play this game any more until I can have the full graphical experience. This is one of those rare games that I'm willing to buy an upgrade for. I know it's been out for a while, and I know a lot of you have it, so I figure I can get some pretty good advice on what card to buy?

I have a Core2 Duo clocked at 3.0GHZ. 4GB of RAM. So I think my CPU is fine.

So here is what I want gameplay-wise:

1920x1080 with max IQ ( 2x or 4x AA) averaging around 50 - 60fps. What kind of video card do I need? Thanks in advance!

Have never played the game, but judging from the stats from wiki:

System requirements

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 3800+
RAM: 2GB
Graphics card: Nvidia Geforce 8800 GT or ATI Radeon HD 2900 Pro[3]

Something like a GTX 260 seems to be ok.

Ran great on my 260GTX SLIs, so there you go. 260GTX SLI or a 480GTX. knock yourself out kiddo.

Risen was completely awesome, I was hooked and played nothing else until I finished it. I believe I had a GTX260(216) at the time and I played at 1920x1200 no issues.

Loved risen and it played beautifully on my old g92. :) I'd recommend getting a better card than a GTX 260 considering Gothic 4 is on its way(expected release in q3 2010). Either a GTX 470 or 5850 is what I'd get.

I played Risen on max settings and super-sampled it to get rid of the jaggies, and that was on a Q9550 and a GTX 275.

Great, great game, though I got tired of it towards the end due to some dragged-out quests near the finale.

I played it with a Phenom II x4 @ 3.5 and a GTX 275 @ 1920x1200 with max settings + 2x AA. I was not averaging 50-60 FPS, so I don't think you should go with anything less than a 5850.

I think I'll go with a 5850. Maybe even a 5870. Then when gothic
4 comes out I'll just get another one and go cossfire style.

Now to find a good 58xx deal...

I play the game at 1680x1050 all settings high and the game runs very well. 16x AF, no AA.

... And my computer is still ancient by todays standards.
