Ok, we are seeing products sprouwt out of no where for 3d gaming with panels for gaming and glasses for gaming, but weern't these out like 10 years ago like on ASUS V serious gpu's.

Like the V8200 a gforce 3 ti with 3d glasses and software for them and even a GTS before that who included glasses.

So are these glasses extinct now with new ones or was their a break for so many years in the technology that its starting over again?

Why i asked cuz i still have the VR glasses that came with my asus v8200 and 7200 deluxe boards and they don't fit anything now so whats the deal with 3d again unlike years ago?

Point?

Well, is this just a refresh of the way it was from back in 2000 when those glasses came out or is this new technology?

Wanna know cuz i have a pair of nvidia glasses from the old days.

Lower refresh rates meant big headaches ,Now we have 120hz+ there's no headaches so 20 years later the same technology is actually useful.

It is that but it's really it's the industry standardization of the technology. I think it's really the 3DTV and the 3D movie industry thatís driving it. NV kept up with 3D until about 3-4 years ago. They stopped driver updates after 8-series. I gamed in 3D on my CRT @120hz from 03-07. 3D sucked in later years because no post processing effects worked with 3D and there where many new compatibility issues. Then it was solved by a monitor company and post processing was possible. Around that same time NV stopped driver updates and came up with their own solution. LCD companies were positioned to take over the 3D gaming market with monitors requiring a simple set of polarized lens glasses, they are unwired and unpowered though they have a limited viewing area. So NV stepped in and now we have 20 year old tech they finally bothered to update for post processing and their new standard. I totally understand but they need to drop the price big time. So yes itís the same but now glasses are synced via USB.

I have an air-brushed Iz3d monitor right here with five sets of polarized glasses as well

Yeah I would have liked to have had one of those, a buddy of mine had one, they are quite nice. I ended up sticking with shutter glasses. With my 8800GTX a few older games ran well enough to play at 2048x1536 85hz, mostly with no AA. I'm holding off on 3D for now. A bunch of new 3D products are about to saturate the market and that should drive the price of the 3D Vision way down.

I see they are showing Nascar via 3d vision, Is there any way I'll be able to hook up my satellite TV to a 3d vision setup?

NV's gear is a lot cheaper than a 3d ready TV I think,Is it?
