MTV = Garbage?

This is exactly why I don't want my childeren, should I ever have any, to watch MTV. Reading this article alone could drop your IQ by 10 points, watching that stupid crap should take care of at least 50.

Hah. Morales. The sad thing is... A lot of people think morality is an outdated concept. It's an old idea that needs to be buried. Or so they think..

I know a lot of younger liberal folks that think like that. Hell, I went to highschool with some of them in Cupertino (CA). In their mind, it's OK as long as it feels good and doesn't hurt anyone else.

Granted, I'm not sure consensual adult acts should be ILLEGAL but that doesn't necessarily mean I think that they're OK.

That new Spider-Man 'toon they've got is pretty good. Not enough to make me watch eMpTyV, mind, but still fairly cool. I had to dig out the cable guide to actually watch it, though, because I deprogrammed MTV as soon as I plugged the cable into the TV. :) If it was on Cartoon Network, or even TechTV I might become a regular...

MTV is crap. So is most of whats on television. There is always the occational show , and channels that put on something decent. I stop watching TV along time go.

Jackass and dirty sanchez own.. nobody can deny the ozbournes is a compelling tv show, they also have some cool stuff over here in the uk like the "screenplay" show, which reviews movies etc.

in total its far from my fave chan most of the time, but it has a few saving graces...

I miss MTV's "AMP" show from back in the day, as well as Headbanger's Ball when it was for real... now it is all garbage... though the cg on the spidey show is cool...

Oh yeah, Aeon Flux, Beavis and Butthead, Liquid Television... they were kewl too... IMO

Jackass has gone really boring, the first few were funny now they are just beating a dead horse. As for dirty sanchez, bah! I failed to find that even slightly amusing. Guy's getting kicked up the ass by a rugby player no longer makes me chuckle:eek:

Oh cmon, when they taped dildos into panchos hands while he was sleeping was just hillarious. Or when they rubbed themselves in nettles for about 5 mins.. including on the scrotum :eek:

Or what about when they put hot sauce in prichard's eyes, then when he tried to wash his eyes they fed washing detergent into his hands.. he got so angry..

Jackass in and of itself is perhaps not morally wrong. However, quite a great deal of the rest of the trash on MTV is. The thread started about MTV in general and kinda deviated to focus more on that particular show (jackass). Jackass is aptly named, IMHO. ;)

i ll go with vamp ... its like one can appreciate music without being a musician. the fact that i can laugh my ass about this stuff doesnt mean i ll apply it to my real behaviour.

Pray, please do NOT apply that to your actual real life behavior. I've seen some of the stunts from Jackass, and worse in CKY, and they most definitely are not nor should they ever become part of normal adult behavior. :)
