Finally got all the details worked out on the phone. Had to hunt down the Google Apps for my Droid, but once I synced up, everything was back to normal. The Droid is faster than it was so far, but the real test will be when I've had it on for a week with constant use. :D

After using CyanogenMod for a week, I think my phone is slower than it was with Stock 2.2. I've had to reboot 3x as much and even had to battery pull once. I've also had a lot of apps to crash on me.
Root users, which ROM do you recommend for me?

I'm running Perception 7 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=848115) on my Samsung Captivate.
I just tried the Quadrant Benchmark app and it scored a 1513. I'm tempted to try the OC'ed version of Perception 7 now...
The overclocked perception 7 for me shuts the phone down once you fully charge it, i went back to axura.

I'm running Cognition, and I am loving it. This ROM is pretty sleek, and it has a ton of features that I'm finding out about...even as I'm posting this now.

@ Six, just installed Gingerbread (via Liquid Gingerbread Rom). Seems clean so far, and does not seem to have the bugs that CM 7.0 dailys have for Droid. Warning though, installs on a 1GHZ Kernel, so it's overclocking off the bat...

that screenshot looks beautiful.. the freedom you get with Android; am going to root my Samsung and am not even worried about consequences!
I rooted my Droid X yesterday and I am running the Liberty ROM 1.5. This ROM is fast and stable and I love it. There are a lot of themes available too and it some great options. I'll try to get some screenshots up soon.

It's a live background. There's a free version, and a donate version for 0.99.

There is an ultimate mod out for the Captivate. I tried it and wasn't too impressed.

Ultimate mod or Ultimate Droid? Ultimate Droid is the best custom ROM I've ever used, especially since 3.0 came out.
Running Liberty 1.5. Device rooted with z4root, ROM applied with Droid X Bootstrapper.

Shouldn't need task killer if you got rid of bloatware:)
I'm rooted with Fission 2.4.3 ROM and switching between Gingerbread and Black Out theme on my Droid 2 Global. I want liberty but the D2G is having problems with the infared sensor on 1.5 I think.

+1 to not needing a task killer. If you want to just backup programs you won't use get the ADB shell working and rename the .apk to .apk.bak. I tried using titanium before but that felt the need to just delete them then I had to pull the files off of a friend's phone to fix it.

How's the battery life with Liberty? Wouldn't mind trying it on my D2 but using the stock rom I already get 3 - 4 days between charges, so I don't want to mess that up.

Mine usually lasts a day or two but I use mine heavily throughout the day. The battery life is better than it was with the stock ROM. But I use Internet, games, streaming audio, etc. a lot throughout the day.

im using an OG droid with Ultimate Droid on it. Using a custom very low voltage kernel.
Battery life is decent for my usage. Some phone calling, a zillion texts and some email and Flow (facebook app). I will be at 60% after 13 hours usually. not too bad.
Gotta give six credit for getting me to try UD. I sure was stubborn about it.
I updated to Liberty v2 last night and I am liking it so far. It's very fast. I will post regarding battery life later. Also, Titanium Backup is a must have app for anyone that changes ROM's.

I have since moved over to Pete Alfonso's GPA15. using his LV 800 mhz kernel.
I have it set to interactive gov, 125 minimum and 550 maximum, and i get 13 hours at 80% battery left. That's with my normal usage of texts, calling and facebook. Maybe some streaming radio in there.
Very impressed.

I'm rolling with Raidzero's Baseline 0.5 ROM and his 125/1100 LV kernel. For Froyo it rocks. Very very fast for my OG Droid.
