I changed my card from a 8800GTS to a GTX470 and for precaution
I installed the drivers, used Driver Sweeper to clean up and then installed
the 257.21 WHQL drivers (Vista/7 64 bits)
And now I cant change the settings on Nvidia control panel, any time I open the control panel the settings (FSAA,Transparency , VSYN , filters ,...) they are reverted to its defaults.

I read somewhere about a bug in some .xml file wich are write protected
nvapps.xml, nvwsapps.xml
But those files don't even exists in my system32 or anywhere in drive C: (I checked for hide files), so I tried to create them my self, but nothing

Also tried to go back to 257.15 Beta drivers, but it was useless.

Is anything more I can try, besides wait for a new driver and/or to RivaTuner to support 2** drivers?

It may not be related, but I was having the same issue the other day which I discovered was due to a bug with the Crysis profile. Have you by any chance been playing around with the Crysis profile settings?

My issue was resolved by applying the 'restore defaults' and not touching anything to do with Crysis.

Reinstalling the drivers right over the existing installation fixed a few issues for me with this set. GTX 470 also btw.
